Biffle's car. Who is this guy, anyone know much about him?
Smith is filling in for Biffle in conflict situations...

From ReganSmith.com

Once Regan Smith mastered walking as a toddler, he moved on to the next stage of any normal child's life development: "racing".

At the ripe old age of four, Smith was strapped into a go-kart and told to go fast. He did and he hasn't stopped since.

"One of dad's friend's, Keith Titus, brought a go-kart over to the house one day and said to my dad "He's old enough". "I started racing a couple of weeks after that" said Smith. "Mom wasn't too keen on the idea at first. After all, it hadn't been long since I learned how to walk and here I was driving a race car."

Nonetheless, the youngster started running a microd, similar in size to a quarter-midget but longer and wider, in Syracuse, NY, under the guidance of his father, Ron and his mother, Lee. Regional, divisional and state championships followed while the Smith family raced throughout the state of New York.

At the end of the 1994 racing season, the Smiths decided as a family to make the move south to North Carolina so that Regan could be closer to the hotbed of racing that is NASCAR. After all, Regan had achieved much success in his hometown racing circle, but he and his parents knew that in order for Regan to prove himself as the bona fide race car driver, he needed to be in a region that was immersed in auto racing.

Mooresville, NC was the logical settling point. With the majority of NASCAR teams based between Mooresville and Charlotte, it was the perfect locale for Regan to prove his ability as a racer. Additionally, it was an excellent location for his parents to continue what they do best: their construction, land development and real estate business.

In 1995 a then 12-year-old Smith joined the ranks of the World Karting Association (WKA) - the premier karting series in North America. Despite the heightened competition, Smith continued to win poles, races and championships in a variety of divisions.

In 1998, 14-year-old Smith, having caught the attention of factory karting teams, found himself in a very enviable position of being a factory driver for Birel USA and Birel Italy with renown team owner Enzo Chiovittii.

Aside from the very busy karting schedule Smith ran in 1998, it also marked the debut of his Allison Legacy career. With the first race coming in July of '98, Smith took yet another step in his racing career.

Soon he moved on to the USAR Hooters ProCup Series (North Division) where he set a series record of four consecutive poles in the 2001 season. From there he rose to compete in a handful of NASCAR Busch and Craftsman Truck Series races in the 2002 and 2003 seasons, where he had a career-best finish of 15th at Texas Motor Speedway in March 2003.

2004 marks his third NASCAR Busch Series season, with hopes of reaching new heights on this level. Regan Smith looks to continue his climb to the top as he bids to become one of NASCAR's hottest young stars.
