Greg Biffle is negotiating with DEI for the #1 Chevy beginning with 2004. He supposedly has an out with his Roush contract, one apparently his lawyers found, and is getting ready to make the move. DEI is waiting for a sponsor to sign off, supposedly it could be Kraft [who sponsored the #81 DEI car at Indy and also sponsored some Roush teams in the Winston and Bud Shootout

i could only hope not, could be that move would totaly turn me off of DEI i have been fighting with myself for over 2 years now on who to pull for the 29 or the 8. if this is true guess i'll be goin with the 29. I don't know why just don't like Biffle. On the other hand if they were to put scott riggs in the 1 he would be the man !!!

I like Biffle, he's alright. But Im not nessecarily a DEI fan...though mikey and jr. are both DEI.

I heard about this too. I don't if I would like DEI if they signed Biffle. Also speaking of DEI someone was trying to tell me that Jr. was leaving to go to RCR and drive the 3 car. But I found that very hard to believe and I was almost sure he signed a contract extension with DEI. Can anyone confirm or deny this.

Jayski.com said that Dale Jr. was most likely going to re-up with DEI.

that's great news !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
You can say that again! I like Bif & would hate to see him turn to the dark side and wind up in the clutches of Darth Earnhardt or Emperor Childish. :p

and so would i !!!!!!!!i like the dark side wouldn't want him there.

now Matt on the dark side thats another thing

Well, I like him where he is, at Roach Racing thank you very much

Greg Biffle's future at Roach  Racing is most certainly in question. Biffle told NASCAR.com on Friday that he has no immediate plans to leave Roush, but is exploring the possibility of employment elsewhere. "There's several people who have approached me about doing something different," Biffle said just before his qualifying run at Talladega Superspeedway. "It's not set in stone I'm staying with Roush, not set in stone I'm leaving. But I'm certainly exploring my options." Biffle wouldn't elaborate on his suitors, but did say his current contract runs through the end of 2004, and that no extension has been signed. "This is probably my last career move, to go somewhere for the next five or six years, or next so many years," Biffle said. "I'm relatively happy where I'm at," he said. "We're getting better, let's say. I haven't been happy this whole year, but we're definitely getting better and happier than I have been in the past."
