Biffle to the #1 DEI Chevy in 2004 ?

DEI has picked John Andretti to take Jeff Green's place [in the #1 Pennzoil Chevy] the rest of the season, except at Talladega, where Andretti will drive for Childress. However, DEI is still working on a 2004 deal for that team -- according to one source, the sponsor could be Coca-Cola and Pizza Hut. Busch Scott Riggs has been the front runner [see rumor below], but Greg Biffle could also be in the picture. However, Biffle is under to contract to Roush for another season and would have to buy his contract out, if Roush would even OK such a move.

Interesting. He'd be a much better choice than Riggs or Andretti if DEI could get him, imo. Biffle has expressed his displeasure with Roush several times this year and he may not be happy about losing the only crew chief he's ever had at Roush. I'd like to see Biffle in the #1.

You won't see Coke and Pizza Hut on the same car. Pizza Hut is owned by Pepsi. Riggs would be a better choice.

I think FedEX is the most likely, since UPS is also in the sport and since fellow DEI teammate Michael Waltrip has Dominos Pizza as a sponsor, I dont see Pizza Hut also having any type of affiliation with a team that already has Dominos.

With Andretti driving the 30 AOL Chevy at Talladega, I think Scott Riggs will be in the #1 for Talladega. Some rumors have Riggs being in at least 1 race for DEI before the end of the season.

Andretti is really driving the #30 car at Dega?

I havent heard this yet, and I dont even remember it being rumored. Strange.

I didnt read every post but my gah, cant DEI make up thier minds? First it's Parks, then Green, now Andretti? Goodness,

Oh wait, sorry that was just a rumor for Andretti to drive the 30 at Talladega. Richard Childress could make a 4th team for that race either for John Andretti or Kerry Earnhardt.

Kerry Earnhardt

Ok, I dont quite understand. Was/Is DEI planning on fireing Green and replacing him with Andretti? Or has that already happened, they cant make thier minds up it seems.

Jayski update:

Mr. RobbyG Fan in the #1 car?: Rumor around the garage is that a new driver has caught the eye of DEI executives and are looking at putting him into the car by the Talladega race. No word on his racing background as of yet, but sources have indicated that he has plenty of racing simulation experience. (Racing-Forums.com)

Happy29 to be in the 30 AOL Chevy? Richard Childress says he's reviewing the Steve Park-Mike Beam [#30 AOL Chevy] operation. Sprint star J.J. Yaley [Yeley] and Ward Burton, Happy29 from Racing-Forums.com are on Childress' list of potential drivers, according to team sources. Scott Wimmer is considered the leading candidate to replace Ward Burton in the #22 CAT Dodge [or whatever manu they use in

Back to the main issue. I know it's a bit confusing but here's the main things

- Green leaving after Darlington, John Andretti will be in the 1 car for the rest of the season

- John Andretti probably wont be in the 1 for the EA Sports 500 at Talladega, he'll probably be driving the 30 AOL Chevy or another car for Richard Childress

- Scott Riggs will be in the #1 for at least one race before the end of the season

Ok I understand now, I think I do. I was getting the 30 car mixed up as a DEI car because Im use to Park being with DEI. I get it now, took me awhile but I got it.

Now on Ward, will he be driving for DEI or Childress?

yeah took me awhile to figure that out but I finaly did, lol

FSN's NASCAR This Morning reports that John Andretti will drive the #30 AOL Chevy for RCR at Talladega.

Man, I sure hope not. Steve is signed to that car, let STEVE race it!!
He ran really well at Daytona in July until that wreck, which he did NOT cause.

Steve Park's official web site reports that Steve Park will be in the #30 AOL Chevy and John Andretti will be in a 4th Childress car NOT the #30 Chevy as reported for the EA Sports 500.

:) That makes me happy, I was wondering why RC would remove Steve for a race when he's signed till the end of the year.
