Big & Rich, Collective Soul To Perform During Chevy Rock & Roll 400 Weekend - NASCAR Drivers to Pair with Musical Artists for Special Paint Schemes: If it was possible for a NASCAR race weekend to gain more excitement, anticipation and prestige, it just happened. Officials from Richmond International Raceway, General Motors and Action Performance Companies announced today that race fans attending the upcoming Chevy Rock & Roll 400 weekend September 9-11 will be treated to two free concerts surrounding the NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series races. Fans who hold race tickets for the Emerson Radio 250 NASCAR Busch Series race on Friday, September 10 will be able to see rising country music artist Big & Rich, while Collective Soul-holder of eight number one rock hits- will perform a track side show prior to the sold out Chevy Rock & Roll 400 on Saturday, September 11. The anticipation for this race weekend has been building for months, as the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 will also be the final race that sets the field for NASCAR's inaugural Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup. Richmond International Raceway will also host the first ever Crown Royal IROC race held on a short track when the all-star series kicks off race weekend on Thursday, September 9. In addition to the concerts, six Chevy race vehicles will carry special paint schemes featuring different musical artists. These paint schemes will sparkle under the lights on Richmond's famous three-quarter mile track.
