The inaugural World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Commonwealth 100’ will be contested on April 16-17, 2010, at VMS, track and series officials announced on Monday.

A $25,000 prize is earmarked for the winner of the two-day blockbuster, which will offer a cash purse totaling over $125,000. The Commonwealth 100 will pay $2,000 to start, and a 30-lap Non-Qualifiers’ Race will boast a $3,000 first-place award from a purse of nearly $16,000.

I wish I lived a lot closer to that track. I've seen a lot of their races on TV and definitely one I'd like to see one of these days.

I hope they move the Carolina 200 next year.

I doubt they will but the VMS race is FRI/SAT ARCA should be on Sunday again so you could do both.

I wish they moved it to the week NASCAR's in Charlotte for the All Star. It might attract more fans and get some Cup drivers to make an appearance to sign autographs.

The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the drive to The Rock.
