Here kitty, kitty, kitty
A little history first. Other than the day my wife and I were married, the best day of my life was a couple of years before that. She and I met up with our friend Guido, first time I had met him, and we shot the bull for a good long time. A lot of tea was consumed and Guido ended up being late for work because he, my wife and I are all so full of BS that we just enjoyed our time. Anyway, after Guido headed towards Charlotte, the wife (not wife at this time) and I headed west towards North Wilkesboro where she showed me the track and where her season tickets, seven in all, were. Had a great time there and then we headed back to Winston Salem. On the way is the little community of Ingle Hollow and because the two of us were big Bill Elliott fans, we decided to take the turn and see if we could find Junior Johnson's garages where the #11 and #27 Fords, driven by Bill Elliott and Jimmy Spencer, were housed. We were able to meet Junior and he told us to just go where we wanted and showed us where all the buildings were and for what purpose they were. Today, this would be impossible. Anyway, at that time, Elliott's car was sponsored by Budweiser. Spencer's car was sponsored by McDonald's.
Okay, today when I got home, the wife told me there was a surprise in my office that she guaranteed that I would love. What I got was a uniform shirt worn by one of Bill Elliott's crew. Curt, who now works for RCR, is married to one of my wife's nurses that she supervises. The shirt is a bit small for me, but who cares. And another plus is that Curt's initials are mine as well and are on the back collar. Talk about surprised! Life is good and sometimes it is full of surprises.
