I think it's a comment on the behavior of the fans at the track. Unfortunately, it's a fact that many do cheer at wrecks and accidents.

Yea I have only went to 1 winston cup race and will never go to another one because of this fact. My favorite driver wrecked and I had said something about likeing him earlier after he wrecked the fans around me loved rubbing it in.

That's what is hard to understand. I go to the races in Dover and I will never, ever understand why fans stand up and cheer when there's a wreck. If you want to see crashes go to a demolition derby.

Wrecks and racing go hand in hand. I don't think any fan wants to see a driver get hurt but it is part of the sport.
I do however think some fans like to see "the big one" and drivers other than the ones they cheer for to have a bad day. Again, not the same as wishing driver injury.

yea thats all great and all but they dont know there not hurt and they dont wait to see if there ok. Most people dont seem to have commin sence to change there ways after adam and dale sr.

Wrecks keep it exciting to me... I got a little queasy when I saw Sadler's wreck today though. Thank God he was okay.

I bet they love wrecking for peoples amusement.
I can't stand wrecks. I cheer, but only after the drivers have all gotten out. I'm cheering that they are OK, not the wreck.

Mental state? Many times, they cheer AFTER the driver gets out of the car which is AFTER the wreck.

If it were all perfectly safe with no hazards of any sort, I don't know if I could just sit there and watch it for hours. I don't want people to get hurt, but I don't think it would be that exciting. Rant at me all you want, I don't care. Wrecks are part of the sport.
I love to watch the racing. It's especially fun when you listen to drivers and crew talking about the cars. You get to sit in the huddle, so-to-speak.
