Owner Bill Davis is expected to scale back to one Cup team next season. Ward Burton is leaving the #22 Dodge, and Scott Wimmer, who is seventh in Busch Series points, is the favorite to take the ride in 2004. Kenny Wallace, who drives Davis' #23 in Cup, will drive Davis' Busch car in 2004 with Stacker2 as the sponsor.

Interesting!! I guess that backing from dodge or lack of might have something to do with it. It also could be that he wants to put more foucs on starting his Toyota truck team next year. I thought that Kenny would be going in to the #23 Stacker 2 truck not to the BGN, I hope he does go to the trucks he might do pretty good there! The trucks is not a big step down anymore the racing is just as good if not better than the BGN!

I think the racing in CTS is great to watch and I would rather see Kenny Wallace go there than Busch. And I think you are right about losing the Dodge backing and it having an impact on BDR.

If this is set in stone, than I'm more than a little confused about which car # Wimmer would drive in 2004. Does CAT go with Ward when he leaves?

i feel bad for kenny hes a great guy. he has just been stuck in crappy situations over the years. its too bad dei didnt start a 4th team for him and stacker 2 in the 98 car like last year.

I wonder if Kenny going to the 1 car and taking Stacker2 as the sponsor is an option?

Bill Davis will keep the 22 number.

I saw on Jayski's that Ward is likely headed for the #0 car. I never suspected that move.

MRM, neither did I!!! Completely from left field to me.
I know I said DEI and the 1, but I really thought with Tommy going to Evernham, that ward was too.

Its confirmed.........Ward Burton is going to the Netzero Car. Driving the big old #0
