Bill france jr at indy suntrust

I was watching speed news (on speed TV), and they said bill france jr watched the suntrust indy challenge (Richmond, va June 26). Acording to speed news, bill france jr said that it almost scared him. There was plenty of rubbing, wrecks, excitement, the cars go 40mph faster here, and the tickets are 2 to 3 times cheaper then nextel event tickets there.

I have no link to this, just going by what I saw/heard on the show.
 
That would be sweet to see stock cars going 40 mph faster at Richmond!
 
Hey Smack. I love the IRL. I think it was Dick Bergren or Bones Bourcier said that the IRL puts on some of the best races that nobody sees. I just wish that they would have higher car counts. The IRL is growing and might start to compete with NASCAR in the next few years.
 
I flipped over to the IRL race a few times Saturday night. Those cars were fraeking hauling around the track.

Oh yea man I totally agree, if they had like 10+ more cars on the field, and raced at more short tracks they would definately be a threat to nascar. But even as it now, they have some great races, I just wish more people would give it a chance and watch it sometime.

Didnt they have like 5+ races last year with side by side finishes. Not to mention 1 or 2 races with 3 wide side by side finishes.
 
Yeah, I think Texas went three wide at the finish 2 years in a row.

It was also a photo finish in those races! The IRL races at Texas are fabulous!
 
Mr France was not the only NASCAR Royalty there satirday. The King Richard was at the track as well!

WHat all you guys are saying right now is what I have been saying for the past 2 years,The IRL has alot of great racing and fantastic finishes. I agree that they need more cars but if all they are is feild fillers like at Indy I am perfectly fine with 22 cars. The races are a good lenght as well, about 2 hours is all that most people can pay attension to a race, if they are not a true loyal race fan.

Keep sending out those good vibes to the IRL, tell your freinds about the IRL and the IRL will become more popular and be a threat to NASCAR
 
i'd just love to see all the former open wheelers in stock cars go to irl. put stewart, both gordons, newman, yeley, bliss, and kahne into indy cars, along with dale "i wanna race in the indy 500 someday" junior, and throw in the old cart tracks in America and canada to make about 30 races a year, and the irl would be way beyond awesome.
 
Excatly what PettyBenson said....you guys must check out the IRL races they are really awsome!!
 
When the owner of a competing series, says hes scared you know there must be something to it. :cheers:
