DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Bill France, chairman and chief executive officer of International Speedway Corporation had bypass surgery on Wednesday evening.

France, who had a bout with cancer last year, fell and broke his hip on Tuesday night. After being admitted to the hospital and tests were done, doctors recommended the bypass.

The procedure is not expected to prevent him from continuing his roles with ISC.

"I have spoken with my brother and he is alert and in good spirits," said Jim France, Bill's brother and president and chief operating officer of ISC. "The doctors say to expect a full recovery. With regards to the company, we have a strong management team in place and expect on-going operations to continue to run efficiently."
 
Yes ! Isn't that what smoking & drinking does?

I have friends that have said he can down some beersky's & I believe he was a chain smoker.
