Found this on Jayski today...

Dave Blaney has completed 98.3 percent of all laps, more than any driver on the circuit.

Pretty interesting. Means he stays out of trouble, and takes care of his equipment. One would think he could run up front in top-flight equipment.
 
He has been clean this year, but when he drove the AMOCO car he seamed to hit everything out there execpt the pace car. Working at an AMOCO plant we used to bet as to weather he would finish or hit the wall.
 
Yeah, Blaney has had some good runs but hes just not consistent enough to compete every week. Not sure if it is the 77 or Blaney...
 
Hey, saw that too and thought it was pretty interesting. Just not one of those guys you think of as consistant....(if that's what you call it...)
 
I remember when his wheel fell off at Atlanta, he was dominating that race, he'll get that first win soon:)
 
I tend to think it is the equipment more than Dave that keeps the car from the checkers, I thought the world of both Blaneys in WoO, they are smart and persistant and in the end that is gonna spell success for that team. I really liked Robert Pressley and was sorry to see him go but Dave seems more likely to get a win with Jasper than with BDR. I too suspect it wont be long!

Ain't nobody gonna win a championship in the 77. It's kinda hard to gauge Blaney's ability in a second rate ride. He did hit a lot of concrete in the 93, but experience seems to have taught him a few things. I'd like to see him get bumped up a notch or two on the pecking order and see what he's got. I wager that he could win in the 19.
