New crew chief for Kenseth: in a bit of a surprise move, Veteran crew chief Todd Parrott has been appointed crew chief of Roush Fenway's #17 Sprint Cup Crown Royal Ford team with driver Matt Kenseth. Parrott will take over the role effective immediately. Drew Blickensderfer, who has served as crew chief on the #17 since the start of the 2009 season [winning the Daytona 500 and race afterwards in Calif], will assume a role in Roush Fenway's research and development department. Parrott, who won a Sprint Cup championship with Dale Jarrett in 1999, is the third winningest active crew chief in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with 29 career wins.(RFR)(2-17-2010)

I can't decide if this is a good thing for Kenseth or not. Probably not to cool for Blickensderfer. What a cool name by the way.

Just curious, does anyone know where Todd has been for the past year. What team has he been with since he left Bobby Labonte. And didn't Jack Roush once fire the whole Parrott clan all at once?

Hmm.. he sure looked like a genius after the first two races of last season.

Good for Matt. Something needed to change. I'm not sure this was it. :)

Exactly.

He missed the chase and I serously doubt he forgot how to drive.

It should be his choice to change CC's but as things go, Kenseth doesn't drive for one of the 2 great pillars of Nascar but instead Jack "The devil" Roush so any move they make to better their team is viewed as evil, I suppose.

roush once ruled the roost with hendrick but hasn't been the major factor he once was lately. i'm glad matt got a new cc. he hasn't been the same since robby reiser was promoted. not sure it's blickensderfer's fault but a change was necessary. probably more blame needs to go to roush's organization than specifically on the cc.
