He was a major player with Ford and Ford racing. The Thunderbolt was his idea/creation. Many of Ford's upper management, including the CEO etc attended his funeral. He was Mr, Ford.

Tasca has now taken over a Buick GMC dealership. They're now also a Chrysler and Dodge dealer.

Dayum, he's got to be rolling over.

Bill Lawton passed away 20+ years ago, his trademark pack of butts rolled up in his T-shirt sleeve got him. John Healey disappeared IIRC. Tasca had a Falcon, and Galaxy along with the Mustang and Thunderbolts racing at the same time.
There's been a rumor that he wanted to get into circle track racing and wanted to purchase a local short track but no one knows what happened, the circle track Nascar dream ended and so did his involvement in running drag cars shortly after.

Yeah my memories of the Tasca Fords go back to seeing them in the pages of Hot Rod Mag. I remember seeing pics of the Tasca Thunderbolt Fairlanes, but my favorites were the bubble hooded Mustangs..Gas Rhonda is another name that comes to mind in that era for me

The property my high school and the original location of Tasca [777 Taunton Ave] were side by side. Many classes were skipped and us young gear heads would be over there watching them work on the cars. I sat in a Thunderbolt a few times.
Then Bob Tasca would come out and throw us out calling us knuckleheads and to get back to school and learn something.:)

They acquired Paul Masse Buick-GMC. One of Masse's stores was about 1/10 of a mile just past the original Tasca. It is very strange to see them hawking Buicks-GMC after all the years of Ford ads. Trying to find out which Chrysler dealer they bought.
Their brands: "Ford, Lincoln, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, Mazda, Nissan & Volvo at Tasca dealerships"
