Here goes:

Jeremy Mayfield will finish in the top 10
Ken Schrader will finish in the top 25
Brian Vickers will run away with the R.O.Y. and finish in the top 10 (Brendan Gaughan will finish 2nd, but it won't be close)
Johnny Sauter will not do good in the 30 car
At the end of the year everyone will love the new system (at least the fans anyway)
David Green will win the Busch series in a shootout with Bobby Hamilton Jr.
Steve Park will do really well in the truck series
Ted Musgrave will not back up what he's been saying, won't even finish in the top 5 in the truck series

I know some of these are a reach, but what fun is it to go with the safe picks

There's mine, what do ya'll got?

Elliott Sadler is the surprise driver in the top 10.

The new points system will be divisive among fans, some love it while most don't care for it.

Steve Park will struggle to stay out of the wall.

Bobby Hamilton Jr. will win the Busch series points.

Jimmy Spencer and Greg Biffle both lose rides.

Ricky Rudd and Ken Schrader both announce retirements after seeing how much fun Bill Elliott is having in dirt cars.

Jimmie Johnson suffers the sophomore slump in his Junior year.

Tony Stewart holds off Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman for the cup championship.

NASCAR announces they are moving the spring Darlington race to a second date in Kansas, like it or not.

Michael Waltrip's mouth will be clocked faster than the pole speed at NHIS.

1.  Jeremy Mayfield will finish in the top 10
2.  Ken Schrader will finish in the top 25
3.  Brian Vickers will run away with the R.O.Y. and finish in the top 10 (Brendan Gaughan will finish 2nd, but it won't be close)
4.  Johnny Sauter will not do good in the 30 car
5.  At the end of the year everyone will love the new system (at least the fans anyway)
6.  David Green will win the Busch series in a shootout with Bobby Hamilton Jr.
7.  Steve Park will do really well in the truck series
8.  Ted Musgrave will not back up what he's been saying, won't even finish in the top 5 in the truck series

1. Disagree. Not that Jeremy isn't good, but there are so many who are just better.
2. I'll say top 30.
3. Disagree. I think it'll be a close ROY battle.
4. Agree. I think he's unstable.
5. Disagree. There won't the the heated opposition we're seeing now, but there aren't going to be any ticker-tape parades for Brian France.
6. Agree. And oh, how I'd love to see David pull it off.
7. Disagree. Just don't think so.
8. Disagree. Musgrave is certainly top-five material.

Let's see. I say Ward Burton will surprise in 2004...even go so far as to say top ten at year's end.

I also think Biffle will head for greener pastures.

Kurt Busch will have a meltdown and finish well outside the top ten in points.

Johnson's luck has to run out eventually. Now's as good a time as any.

Great stuff, EMP

I forgot about Sadler, great pick, I've always liked him and thought he had alot of potential

Wow, Greg Biffle out of a ride, that's bold, how did you come up with that one? It wouldn't hurt my feelings, especially seeing Burton getting done wrong.

Lumpy, I said bold (maybe crazy). I know they are a little off the wall.

My reasoning on Mayfield is that he is the number 1 guy for Evernham now and he ran really good the second half of last year.

I got a hunch on Vickers becuase he will have the best resources and look what JJ did his first year.

The rest are really just guesses.

Have fun with it. Do you have any wild predictions?

He seems dissatisfied not being the top dog in Roush's cup program like he was at the Busch level. Jack has just about had enough of Greg's mouth too I think. Jack is in a position where he can be picky if he wants to, and I think he will be. I look for Biffle to be replaced by Jon Wood after the end of this season. Just a hunch. Biffle could end up several places, but right now I'm thinking Davis.

Of course, I also predicted the Tampa Bay Bucs to repeat in the Super Bowl, so there's how smart I am.

And why shouldn't they be? That's half the fun. Just taking your cue, not criticizing or calling you out in any way.

Lumpy, It's cool man, I didn't think you were calling me out or anything.

BTW- always liked B. Labonte, one of the classiest acts around and one of my favs, nice to see a BL fan

Hawk

I don't think that Brian Vickers will run away with the ROTY honors, but do think that He'll win a very tight ROTY chase.

I believe that the negative fallout over the "Race for the Championship" will result in going back to the 36 race schedule for points in 2005,although the 5 extra winner points will stay and hopefully the higher minimum speed limit will stay as well.

Probably will see more roof escape hatches installed on cars, first introduced on Michael Waltrip's #15 Chevrolet.

24, I hope you're right about the roof hatches. Had Bobby's car come to rest driver's side to the wall at Chicagoland last year (as it appeared it was going to), things may have turned out much differently for him. The hatch may not have saved him, but it would have been another option.

Scary stuff...

So right Mayfields got it in him, everyone said elliot is a good driver but too many drivers will beat him, well where did ole bill finish in points last year :)

GO MAYFIELD 19 DODGE!!!

1) Dale Jr. wishes outside of the top 10!
2) Kenny and the bam gang grab a win!
3) The Bodine brothers dont crash anyone out this year.
4) Kyle Petty makes it to victory lane.

Schrader qualifies for every race and gets at least a top 5.

Brian wins a race.

One of those real popular drivers (Jr, Tony, Gordon, etc) doesn't make it into the top 10, Nascar panicks, riots break out, more cushion tossing onto the racetracks, fans want to tip the big red trailer, but its not red anymore and they mistake an Evernham hauler for it, Ray sues, at the end of the year Nascar says "see we told you this would be exciting", and we're back to the regular point system next year.

Maybe not wild......

Maybe not crazy.......

But maybe Joe Gibbs will coach the Redskins :p

I see no problem agreeing with most of your predictions Hawk. I agree with you guys--both Mayfield and Sadler could break out strong this year.

A few of my own:

Johnson,Newman and Busch will further establish themselves as the real big guns of the new era. Ok, a safe prediction.

Biffle's crew chief this year(Doug Richert) won a title with a second year driver once upon a time. Stranger things have happened...just not very often. :p Ok, a crazy prediction.

Gordon's 'slump' will continue, further marking a new more competitive era with less really, really big winners.

Jr. will run about like he usually does.Steady but not quite grabbing the brass ring.

Vickers will win ROTY...but I could see Riggs giving him a strong challenge as well as Brendan.

Ford will be much improved this year due to a closer alliance between Roush and Yates.

Dodge will continue to have good runs with Newman and an improved Mayfield and MacMurray.

And seriously, Todd Bodine fills in for a big name driver who misses a race for some reason....and grabs a win.

Finally, infighting between who is gonna be the king of the Chevy hill leads several Chevrolet teams to announce a switch to Ford and/or Dodge. Just too many big ego's in that camp.

Ok, not that many good ones but a few may be valid at least.

Ok i have to get my crazy guesses in here too:
1. Bill wil win another race this year in Everhams' R&D car.
2. J. Gordon will finish out of the top 10.
3. Mayfield in the top 5( i think he will continue momentum from last year).
4. Points system will be the hot topic , but will eventually be accepted.
5. Rusty wins the Daytona 500!
6. Toyota gets a win in the CTS.
7. Park looses ride and goes back east to race Mods.
8. Another driver gets busted for drugs or DUI,Nascar imposes suspensions and drug testing.
9. All cars are required to have roof hatches after another serious fire.
10. Mikey wins the championship :p

dont know if you know it or not, but Schrader races in a lot of dirt races. He has a UMP Late Model and a UMP open Wheel car.....#99.... I belive Ken has been racing longer then bill also.

shrader will win The 500 also will win 2 or so more races. will finish in the top 10 in points.

Robby will take the rc sweep again, also will win at dega and richmond, also with the CUP

Fords will still suck

Dodge will only win will be with Newman.

Jimmy will not be driving in the trucks next year.

Ted musgrave will spin the 46 for holding him back at homesteed next year. and then will spin the 16 for being a smartass.

Dale and and Mikey will admit they do more then bump draft......ok ok i had to do that, ppl call jeff and jimmy j gay when they draft. :p

and DEI will not win a plate race this year.

ok, i know im a lil late but my bold predictions are:

Robby gordon wins at an oval...twice

michael waltrip wins the coke 600

Jamie McMurry has a stellar sophomore season and contends for the championship

and Ryan newman will get the junior jynx

and the championship will come down to dale jr, harvick, tony stewart, jeff gordon, and kurt busch at the final lap in homestead and a big wreck started by johnny sauter takes out jr, stewart, gordon, and busch. Harvick will win the championship amidst heavy scrutiny

1. Ryan Newman will have a worse season.
2. Tony Stewart will win the championship in a nail biter with Bobby Labonte, Jeff Gordon, and Jimmie Johnson...
3. Elliott Sadler with an 11th finish in points, just outside of top 10.
4. Ward Burton gets in the chase for the championship.
5. Kevin Harvick wins 4-5 races.
6. Jeff Gordon has a great season, but only with 2 wins, and 2 poles.
7. Mark Martin makes the top 10, and races up to 7th in points.
8. Dale Earnhardt Jr. wins most popular driver award again...
9. Hideo Fukuyama will race 2 races. :D
10. Jeff Burton will not get a full time sponsor, and have a bad season, only til' next year when he gets a sponsor, and wins the Daytona 500.
