I vote NASCAR for screwing Montoya over so they could have an "exciting" (but predictable) finish.

Im going with that as well. Nascars playing faviorates and its getting more and more obvious.
You know, at first I thought Montoya screwed up. And I said it.

But the more debate over it I hear, the more it sounds obvious. NASCAR needed a good finish (not that it was a good finish). And most fans would rather have Johnson, Martin, Junyer (who was in the running) or Stewart in victory lane over Montoya any day.

I nominate myself for making a pot of coffee the first time I dozed off instead of just taking a nap then.

Better keep your coffee pot handy since Pocono is next week. Two snoozers in a row.

I vote Nascar as well and JR for breaking his engine and Kyle Busch for hitting the wall when he needed a good finish today.

And to think a Joey Logano fan told me she was glad we had the big tracks because she's tired of "boring short tracks"

My vote is for JPM for pushing the envelope when he had a 5 second lead.

I'll also place my vote for Juan Pablo Montoya. It was his race to loose & they found a way to do it. Time to go back to the shop and recalibrate those tach lights.

Have to give it to Na$car, at least it wasn't another phantom debris caution.

I'll have to go with Pablo. He had a 5 second lead and he pushed it too hard coming out of the pit.

Exactly what did Nascar do that was wrong? People cry that they are not consistent and yet when they show some consistency people want to complain. JPM sped on pit road. Nascar did not have any part of that. They don't have a remote control that speeds up the car. It is a time-distance measurement. The speed on pit road is 55 mph. JPM was clocked doing just over 60 mph. Nascar makes their pit road readings available after every race. Many journalists went and checked yesterday.

Put away your tin foil hats and open the hangar doors for the black helicopters to be put away. This was a mistake by JPM and nobody else. The fact that Andy is leading the charge and has suckered a lot of you in that Nascar is to blame tells me way too much... :(

I couldn't agree with you more! JPM was the bonehead yesterday by far. Everyone wants some kind of "conspiracy theory". Everybody wants to blame NASCAR because a certain driver wins more than others or a certain driver doesn't win. Bottom line is, it was JPM's race to lose..and he lost!

Montoya for being stupid, and pushing too hard on the final pit stop.

I don't buy into this conspiracy BS.

:bsflag:

They said on the radio that Nascar could mandate an ignition box that would reduce their speed automatically to pit road speed to keep them from speeding. (Or something like that, I was only half listening). But what fun would that be.

I would love to blame nascar for the speeding but as much as we hate to admit it, it was Montoyas own fault. Probably got too excited seeing thats the best run he has ever had in NASCAR. He was crushing the field.

DO you guys think that Johnson could have gotten near Montoya if it were not for the speeding?

I nominate y'all for watching that race. I'll include myself since I watched the first 30 laps or so.

Sorry bout that, but this was the first race in a long time that I had no interest in watching. I wonder if there will be more? :(
i've missed alot of races this year.

and have pit speed limiters like F1/FIA sports? zzzz

Remember who was behind him: Martin, Johnson, Stewart and Junyer (just before the blown motor).

Does anyone think either of those four drivers would've been penalized if they had the dominant car and were speeding on pit road?

Montoya was going to win convingly, and NASCAR got him out of the way so a more popular driver could win.

I just do not see the logic here.

Absolutely!

BS! JPM winning could have been one of the best things that ever happened to NASCAR.

JPM screwed up. He had a five second lead coming to the pits and pissed it away. If anything, I think NASCAR threw the caution to get JPM out front again! :sarcasm:

Jimmy said he didn't know but he had the trophy.

Rusty Wallace said and he was right, you have the class of the field race car, you need to be a really conservitive when it comes to Pitstops and restarts.

Yes, Mark would of been. :D

I can't believe y'all are still listening to Andy on this. Sabates saw the timing and he was satisfied that JPM was speeding. Isn't that really all we need to know?

Montoya

Yeah I personally think the fact that he threatened Nascar and used his wife and children to swear on may give us a hint that he may bow under pressure.Wasn't the first mistake hes made and probably won"t be his last. Just doesn't own up to them.

I don't suppose we need to start listing drivers who don't own up to their mistakes. It would only cause an argument between posters trying to defend their guy. But yeah a lot of them appear to have very short memories of what happened.

Hey andy if yur gonna start conspricy theories then what about the conspricy againist denny hamlin or elliot sadler, I would say jr. but he admitted to blowin the motor.

I only saw replays of what happened to Montoya, didn't look like he was speeding to me but what do i know, we coudn't see his dashboard. Honestly I had picked JJ to win the race last Thursday, dunno why just figured he had the best chance he seems to really know the track no matter where he starts from he's always up front soon enough kinda like how Dale Sr was at plate tracks. It would've been nice to see Montoya win cause that would've been a win for Earnhardt as well. Thanks to NASCAR for shafting Sr's team out of victorylane again.

I heard he was taken to Medical for 3rd degree burns on his lips...
