There are a bunch of candidates this week.

I have to go with Marcos Ambrose for causing or being in the middle of so many wrecks. Of the 13 cautions, I think he had a hand in 6 or 7 of them. At least it seemed that way.

I vote for Kenseth, too. He didn't exactly over-drive all by himself. He thought his bump shouldn't have been repaid, but it was. Dummy.

or Kyle pitting with 6 laps to go and giving up 2nd place. It worked for Denny but not Kyle.

Ambrose...for running over every car on the track.

What?? He did a great job getting an 11th place finish after all the problems he had. He did look like he was driving without any breaks out there though.

From what I saw I have to say the race was bonehead free. Good short track racing from what it looked like. I loved the exchange between the 17 and 24.

If I have to give one it would be Stewarts team for giving him such a bum car. That guy tried like hell all race to get it to work with nothing good coming from it while Newman tooled along up front most of the day.

i don't care how it finished, this award should belong to hamlin's crew chief. take away the kenseth/gordon fun and he gave away a win. denny saved his butt.

Yea, that was a real bad gamble that almost sunk them for the day. I'm thinking they were expecting all of the other lead lap cars to follow because the 18 was right behind them.

This was one the first races seen in awhile where trying to call a bone head move is pretty hard. Looked to me like good old fashioned, hard nosed, short track racing all day long. Hamlin winning removes the crew chief screwing up and Kenseth doing what he had to to try to win on the last lap, well, that's just short track at its best and in the end, Kenseth paid a penalty. For me, no bone head moves this week. Just good fun racing.

This.

That was a completely stupid move. If it wasn't for the luck of a caution coming out with 2 to go, this would have cost them the win. Even then, it still required overly aggressive driving by Hamlin, and a Kenseth screw-up to turn the tide.

Kenseth would be a close second.

Don't forget Kyle came in when Denny did and gave up 2nd place only to get in a wreck from being back in the pack and finish 22nd 1 lap down.

I have to go with this too, if it wasn't for some luck Hamlin most likely would of finished fourth or fifth. I know all things played out in his favor, but I said to my wife as Hamlin and Kyle pulled in the pits with 6 to go..."that's going to bite him in the ass". I was amazed how it turned out though, definetly some good beating and banging short track racing!

I got one no one has mentioned. NASCAR for being very in consistent with throwing out the yellow flag today. They was a few time today that they should have thrown out the yellow that they didn't. I actually didn't even realize how bad it was till I watched Green-White-Checker on nascar.com

You're only saying that cuz' your a Gordon Fan.:D

I believe the bonehead is the person who hasn't installed lights at Martinsville yet.
It needs to be under the lights. I'd pay extra to see it that way.

Maybe a little biased, but I did find it weird that they didn't throw out the flag when Montoya was out there on three wheels going around the track in the racing grove. Also found it a little unsafe that they didn't throw the yellow out when Elliott Sadler was spinning back around as the the front runners where starting to come by.

...For the Jeff Gordon/yellow flag conspiracy theory, press one...for the Denny Hamlin knee conspiracy theory, press two...for the SHR/Hendrick engine conspiracy theory ,press three.... any others??

I just thought of something....didn't this happen in F1 a couple years ago? Where a driver intentionally crashed which allowed his teammate to steal a win?

Hell,it happened a couple years ago at Richmond when Hamlin came to a complete stop with a flat, and allowed Kyle to catch up to Jr.
Nascar black flagged him for intentionally causing that one.

They have raced under the lights there at Martinsville, only it wasn't the Cuppers. A few years ago, Musco Lighting was used there for the modified cars. Good thing too because it rained. Race finally ended close to midnight. But I enjoyed it. Since that time, they have not that I know of raced under the lights.

Being the #17 fan that I am, I'll give it to Gordon for intentionally costing Kenseth the win.

A fact that he bragged about in two seperate interviews but that's short track racing so if you can't handle it pack it up and go home.

Yes. Fernando Alonso won when Nelson Pigeut Jr crashed. Piquet later called them on it, which resulted in a lifetime ban (which was recently lifted) for Flavio Briatore.

Alsonso claimed ignorance.
