I had to think long and hard on this one. I was easily going to give this to Tony Stewart for his pit road speeding penalty that could have prevented him from winning the race on excellent stragedy. But, since he ran out of gas on the last lap, it wouldn't have mattered anyway. Guess I'll have to give it to Harvick for tapping the #56 and starting that mess, even though it was a racing deal.

Like you said, since Tony ran out of gas anyway, it made his pit road goof a moot point anyway, I still have to go with Tony, since the strategy they were trying relied heavily on making no mistakes on pit road....and that was a huge one.

Tony

Might have burnt more fuel BECAUSE of the speeding penalty! Without the penalty he might well have made the race on that fuel..
Betsy;)

I doubt it since he was speeding entering the pits

I'M SPEAKING OF after the penalty when he had to slow and drive thru again... then going thru the gears to get up to speed again.. That must have cost him the fuel he needed to finish the race..and win.

That's probably a good point. Burning more fuel getting the car back up ro speed. Without that, he might have possibly got that extra half lap of gas without that.

KB's team for leaving a wheel loose, three times in the same race. He had a top 3 car before that and possibly could have been in contention near the end of the race.
