The 600 was #12 of 36.

Nominees:

Jr Hildebrand (Indy 500)
Kyle Busch (128 in a 45 on streets)
Alex Kennedy (NNS Dover)
Kimi wrecking Robby's car after 5 laps at VIR testing
Kyle Busch (Darlington)
Harvick (Darlington)
Tony losing lead by speeding down pit road (Texas)
McDowell driving through Ambrose in Martinsville
Tony Stewart's crew leaving the gun on the car (California)
Tony Stewart takes 2 tires and loses race at Pheonix
David Ragan takes foul restart in Daytona

Or...Tony leaving the box with the airhose at LVMS (which later made him have to take four when Carl took two on the final pitstop).

For me, it comes down to Hildebrand and Ragan, because both mistakes cost them the biggest wins of their careers.

But I'll go with Hildebrand. No one can say for sure if Ragan would've won the race if he didn't jump the restart. Plus, his penalty was a judgement call by NASCAR.
As for Hildebrand, he only needs to get by the lap car in the last turn and he's a rookie winner in the Indy 500. I still can't believe that one.

Kennedy in the Nationwide race at Dover for sure.

Question: have you been in a racecar during an race? What he did was stupid, but he may of not seen the cars coming. It is an concrete track with white walls and the two cars were white. Something was broke in alex's car and it should of turned better then it did. I just think people are being hard on him. Plus with a Hans you can not look right or left very much.

Kyle is leading this pole for speeding? What the hell does that have to do with racing?

I picked Ragan for the restart at Daytona...but felt real sorry for him.

I'm in the minority with those who like the kid and reckon he is finally getting this whole Cup thing

No but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that even under caution cars are still going around the track. He should have just got out of the car and let it be towed back.

had to go with jr hildebrand. it was due to inexperience but this was the biggest race of his career, he had it won and blew it. you can bet his crash will be shown over and over on future indy 500's constantly reminding him of how close he was.

Right On!! All the racers on TV are Rich Kids! Good Show!!

Agreed.

More then likly yes, but i am sure he did not know the damage to the car. It still ran and would go. Your not going to get a guy to get their car towed back if it will roll and run.
