Books you would recommend

Just about anything in the Prey series by John Sandford. The main character in this series is an investigator in Minneapolis named Lucas Davenport. Any of the books are good. The newer ones are better, as he has grown as a writer and has developed the characters extremely well over the years, but the newer ones will kind of spoil a lot of the surprises of some of the older ones if you go back and read them later. I will say that Winter Prey is possibly the best one to read first for several reasons which I won't go in to for several reasons.

Also, Lisa Scottoline is really good as well, although a completely different type of writer and subject matter. Sandford covers some really dark stuff and Davenport is certainly not a character from a Disney movie. Scottoline isn't doing Hallmark Channel fluff, but she does things with a certain amount of humor and compassion that is really enjoyable if you are kind of in the mood for something a little less dark and heavy.

Star Wars: The New Jedi Order

I would recommend it to anyone especially for Star Wars and Sci Fi lovers.

Those are good. Have you read the Grand Admiral Thrawn/Heir To The Empire trilogy? They're my personal favorites of the Star Wars novels that I've read.

I've just started reading some of the Lovejoy novels by Jonathan Gash. They're about a somewhat shady antiques dealer that gets involved in different mysteries. I'm really enjoying them so far.

Here are my recommendations! :) Okay, so if you never plan on coming to Arkansas, then these are basically useless for you. The simple fact is that I'm not a reader, but as a nature lover, if I find out about a guidebook, you can bet that I'm likely going to buy it!

No, I've not read the Grand Admiral Thrawn trilogy. I will since you have recommended them though. I love Star Wars.

The Alex Rider series is very thrilling. Spy/mystery/suspense genre

If you havent read Darth Plagius or the Darth Bane series, I highly reccomend it.

If you dont know by now, the EU is no longer canon. Its a "ledgends" series of books. Bascially considered fan fiction now.

Thank you for your suggestions. Looks like I have a ton of reading to do. It's going to take me forever. LOL

Yo, do you know where I can download Star Wars books from like the sith era and pre war?

I'm more interested in the times where the Sith ruled.

Pay for them do you mean? LOL no.

I only buy stuff that I cant find for free out in the internet. If its something that's accessible than I'll just grab it. If not I'll buy.

Ah, I haven't looked for that. Usually the, now what is called "legends", books arent that expensive in the store and I'll pick a few up for the next few months of free time reading.

Also, Marvel has released Star Wars Comics #1-4 I think. Good stuff.

After Disney took over and redefined what is and isnt canon, its hard to figure out what is canon and what isnt.

I have also been looking for the early uncanny X-men. Those are ****** hard to find.

Been reading some issues of the Astonishing X-men. Love the visual upgrades.

I like Sandford too, but I follow the Virgil Flowers series. I also like just about everything Clive Cussler and Brad Taylor produces. I mostly go for the action/adventure and scifi genres. The Frontiers Saga (Ryk Brown) is a very good scifi series, the books are short, cheap, action packed, and fast moving. I recently read a hard cover book - I prefer my Kindle.

I've started trying more unknown authors because the name brand author books prices are getting out of hand.

I think you'd like it down here in New Zealand. Many famous hikes in more remote areas but within 1/2 hour of home I have so many hiking trails to explore.
I love hiking myself love tramping through the bush.

What kind Bobby? I have several for Depression.
Really anything that you feel you need to work on.
It's best to go to the bookstore as opposed to ordering online, that way you get to browse the book to see if the information fits what you're looking to improve upon.

That's odd ... I just bought a new one on the weekend.

Recommendations .... http://brandonsanderson.com/books/the-stormlight-archive/the-way-of-kings/

1200 pages (softcover) and read it nearly through in one sitting.

Psalms is my favorite book to read, I love it. Here is my bible.

I just did a bible study class hosted by a brand new theological doctor .. ink still wet on her diploma. Wow ... when you scrape off the modern and add back the local historical period .. that book takes on a whole new (old?) meaning.

That sounds really interesting. I don't know if I would have understood it all though. My church is, round trip 30 miles, so I don't go to bible study just church, every other Sunday. I work every other Sunday, then go to church, then work, then church, etc.

None of us fully understood everything, including the Doctor. I think I messed her up a bit when I pointed out one disturbing thing at the end of the meeting. It says early in the book that then end times are near ... that was 2000 years ago. Revelations is perhaps the best dated book of the lot. Later in the book it speaks of how the saved will be in the city and all the rest left alive will be trapped outside .... well, what if it happened already, and nobody told us, and we're the descendants of those left outside?

Although, I may have gifted her with material for her next thesis.

I hope she was grateful. :)
