Jayski reports that Boris Said will be in the #67 this week at Homestead. Could this be because the #77 is most likely losing the driver for next year and they need a replacement and they are looking at Boris?

Wow, that is interesting. Boris did a season or two in the truck series, but he never really ran well on the ovals. Jasper must really be struggling to find a driver if they are considering him.

Boris is signing to drive a 4th DEI car for the road courses in 2003 or maybe it was Ron Fellows, all those road course specialists look alike to me and have you ever sen them together?.:p

Boris has run Winston Cup at Homestead once before back in 1999. Started 27th and finished 34th. I don't remember who the car owner was, but I believe it was sponsored by Federated Auto parts.

Could Jasper be looking at Boris as a possible full time driver for next season? Doesn't seem likely, there are some more experienced oval course drivers without a ride. But teams are looking a drivers these days which run a little contrary to conventional wisdom.

The Jasper team is possibly faced with once again rebuilding itself. Pemberton is gone for sure, and Blaney may be. The team had some type of strategic alignment with Penske this season and I don't know how that will work with Penske's move to Dodge for 2003. Jasper has said they will stay with Ford.

Another team to watch for developments with.
