Hey Kel......are you the same Kel that knows about the Bortkowski/ATT sponsor thing and what team owner it was that closed down a team rather than deal with a sponsor that was displease with the teams performance?

If so, can you run it down again?

I am or I guess I should say that I was! On our gateway computer "the one that got away" I had a number of articles saved that related to all that was going on with that lawsuit. Tony Johns and I discussed this at length and he probably has more information on that now since the Gateway died. He would be your best reference.

It was really a kick in the pants for the future of sponsorships, when AT&T decided that as sponsors they had more rights than the team owner it really opened a huge can of worms. I wish I still had the original articles that explained the lawsuit because it was pretty scary to read and imagine the repercussions if AT&T wins in the end. Last I heard this is still not settled.

Sorry I can not be more help.

If you are just looking for the team owner and car number it was Bill Davis racing and the # was 20. He shut it down and Gibbs picked up the number and has run it since.

Cool, thanks Kel.....got a tad disgusted with Tony's stuff and haven't been back since.

Bill Davis didn't shut the team down. After firing Mike Borkowski for reckless driving, Davis had Dave Blaney run some races in it and then put Scott Wimmer in it to finish off the season. They changed the number to #27 for the next season and Gibbs bought the number 20. Scott Wimmer picked up the Jani King sponsorship for a season, and still races the #27 busch car (now sponsored by Siemens) for Bill Davis racing.

scott whimmer drives a car with the # 23 on it

jamie mcmurray drives the # 27
