Well i finally got the money and bought a new computer case. I was using my dell one for well past it's factory intentions.

To put the flow of this case in perspective- I can put my hand on the front of the computer and feel the air flying into the case.

My LED's power supply doesn't hurt either in the looks dept. :D

And yes, that is a 20 centimeter (7 7/8 inches) fan at the top. :D :beerbang: :owned: :nyanya:

Nice to see people care..haha

I've spent $152.56 so far on my computer.

$120 for case
$7.50 for heatsink bracket
$0.00 for heatsink and fan (guy had it laying around)
$25.06 for cables and cable adapters (to hide the ugly stuff)
----
$160 for graphics card
$400 for new motherboard
$60 for SATA DVD burner
$60 for another SATA DVD burner.

in something close to that order.

Well if ebay doesn't come thru on the HD Tiger Direct has a Maxtor / DiamondMax 20 / 160GB / 7200 / 8MB / SATA-300 / OEM / Hard Drive
for $55.
And, they have a HP AH048AT Lightscribe DVD Burner - 16x DVD±R Burn&Read, 8x DVD+RW, 6x DVD-RW, 8x DVD+R DL, 4x DVD-R DL, 48x32x CD-R/RW, SATA for $70. There's 6 others less than $50.

Thanks for the heads up BP. Now that I have a case where i dont have to pull the gringer and metal shears out to add a hard drive, i can do just that. I'm gonna copy my Linux over from my 6 GB to my 40 GB hard drive, then i already have a 320 GB IDE and the factory 160 GB SATA, and i'm wanting another SATA drive purely to put backups on.

OK, I show that I care and then you ignore me. Go figure. ;) :D

MAG, have you searched AMAZON.com? They seem to have better prices than E-bay for all kinds of stuff.

yea every now and then i go poking around newegg and amazon..not alot though since a chunk of my income right now is through paypal.

eh, revised the list. Spent more than i wanted on cabling but i guess that's what happens wheni have to live on a self imposed computer vs pocket vs bank account budget.

well another revision- I'm not gonna upgrade memory (what i have is enough), so i've been able to bring the cost way down. now for the immediate future is just 160 for graphics card.

Once i get the new heatsink on and extra fans (green and red) ordered, here's how i'll have the fans oriented-

front intake 1: low (39 CFM) (24 decibels)
front intake 2: low (39 CFM) (24 decibels)

top exhaust: low (83 CFM) (25 decibels)
rear exhaust 1: low (39 CFM) (24 decibels)
rear exhaust 2: auto (~30-50 CFM) (unknown decibels)

So i'll have 78 CFM intake and 152-172 CFM exhaust.
