The old riding lawn mower died. We have about 5 acres that needs mowing, so I bought a Husqvarna commercial mower. It's one of those zero turning radius thingys, complete with cup holder! LOL
It's Tony Stewart orange. Guess I'll get some 20 decals to go on it. Or, maybe, paint it Bud red. hehehe

Have to get an umbrella/canopy, though. Texas sun and my fair skin do not mix --- even with sun block.

Lawn mowing has never been so much fun.

Should have bought a Dixie Chopper ZTR (Magic Circle)...namely because they use our engines :D , but mostly because it's the world's fastest lawn mower. They run from about $5K for consumer to about 12K for commercial. (I'm roughly guessing the $$$ from what I've heard our salesman say).

This thing is fast enough, 17_fan. Took about 3 hours to do the 5 acres. It's rough terrain --- between the gopher mounds, tractor ruts, bulldozer gouges, and the backhoe trails, it's like riding a bucking horse.

Thinking about a 5-point harness so I can stay in the seat. LOL

Keep the Home Depot Orange, TRL, it's a great color. Don't know diddly about lawn mowers or mowing. I have never mowed in my lifa and don't plan on starting now. I am happy just weeding my gardens.

Hehehe...I often wondered why they don't put seat belts on all those ZTR's. I think Dixie offers them as an option on a few of their models. I was scared to open the Dixie up the first time I drove it. I never had driven a ZTR before. The field behind our plant is pretty rough terrain too & I knew our lab techs disconnected the kill switch under the seat because they need to run the thing w/o sitting in the seat at times.

Well gee... puts my 1 acre lawn to shame... can I borrow your riding mower next time I have to mow? :(

I own my own lawn care business and we run 11 Dixie Choppers!

Where in TEXAS do you live since you left Houston ?? We were just at College Station and Austin. Took the state roads everwhere we went rather than the interstates as TEXAS roads are the best !!!!! And that 70 m.p.h. limit is cool.

Spent college years in Texas and enjoyed every day !!!!!!! Part of the reason for the return after 48 years. :salute:

HEY !!!!!!!!
I bought a collector lawn tractor from a chap in Elgin and we came right through Palestine on our way back to North Carolina. I do recall stopping at the Wendy's for a fountain Coke on the way through Palestine. We drove from Austin to Elgin, picked up the tractor. Took highway 95 from Elgin to Taylor and highway 79 to Shreveport, picking up I-20.

It was truly a fun trip and we did so many nice things. Saturday evening we went to The Broken Spoke, a Texas Dance Hall, and listened to the DeRailers play. I can't remember dancing so much in one evening in my life !!!! Everyone was in such a good mood, the music great and the people, well, they were the absolute best. As for the DeRailers, we try to hear them every time we can and part of this trip was built on thier being in Austin on that date.

Really a great time. Love Texas and love to yell, "GIG'EM AGGIES".

"The Ole Whizzer"

Sure beats up on my old Comet Snapper. But then again I only have a lot in a sub division. :D
