Bounce Backs

2010 was the McMurray year.

2011 Smoke rises again.

Of all the guys that competed last year, who will have the comeback in 2012?

Mmmmmm. I didn't word that right. I was thinking more, who has fallen from grace in 2011, and will rise like a phoenix from the ashes.

Dale was in the chase and competed well all year. Even though he lost 3 races by less than a c-hair. LOL

But if DJ is what you mean, I see where you are coming from. No wins in the last 5 years. Well, real wins anyhow.

I consider last year an improvement but by no means a success so I'll stick with my choice.

I hear that. My wife is getting sick of not being able to stick her finger in my face. She wants what you want.

montoya, he needs to prove he can run up front and win. racing isn't a sport where you can rest on past achievements. especially if they are primarily from other other forms of racing.

Well, it's pretty obvious what you're looking for. Kurt Busch with Phoenix racing.

LOL, I was thinking JJ needs to get back to work and prove he can still Win.

Biffle needs to get back into victory lane and Hamlin may want to kick it up a notch but the guy I'm expecting may do something this year is Jeff Gordon - although I realize he didn't exactly have a bad 2011 but it's Jeff Gordon we're talking about and being content to simply "run well" isn't what Jeff Gordons all about.

I think I'll head on over to the Bold Prediction thread and post.;)

Kasey showed what he can do over the last 10 last season I expect him to keep that up through this year.

A Bounce Back and a Break Thru are two different things to me.

Kasey has never achieved Greatness so for him to finish the season in the Top 3 would be a Break Thru.

Biffle winning a Championship would be a Break Thru as well, but if he made the chase it would be a Bounce Back of sorts. Same for Juan Problemo.

Joonyer Bounced Back by making the Chase. A Championship in CUP would be a Break Thru for him - but I would not bet the farm that it will happen.

Jeff Gordon is the guy who really needs a Bounce Back year. Same could be said for Jimmie-Chad after their "disappointing" 6th place finish in 2011.

Bounce back: Jimmie Johnson, returns to form.

Breakthrough: Kasey Kahne, wins 6 races and finishes top 3. Jr fails to make the Chase and Kasey's team is sent to Jr.

Surprised he hasn't given him Chad Knaus yet.

Funny how almost everyone was calling Rick H's moves brilliant after Gordon won and Jr did better, then everything fell silent when JJ struggled (for him). Why isn't the media question that very move now?

IMO, Jeff G. was FAR more important to JJ's success than most realize.

Agreed. Now, if you could just explain reach around, I'll be set. ;)

IMO, Kurt making the chase would be the ultimate bounce back. He got frustrated with PR and acted like an ass. Keeping his cool and making the chase, or even coming close to what he accomplished at PR, will validate his frustrations and talent. He'll be sponsor worthy again, and that would be huge.

I like to think that the Biff will bounce back again. He's had a couple of sub par years for him and this could be his year. How many realize that if he would win the Cup, he would be the first to win all three major series titles.
