Im not an owner but Ive heard some good things about it. A friend of mine told me that it is the best value for the money, and gives you a full body workout. I do think it is pretty expensive though.
Run a bit.......go to gym with someone who has a membership and learn "free wieghts". Then go to yard sales or swap meets and get a set of wieghts and work out in your garage. Get your friends to come......more fun with buddies. That's more or less what I did when I was your age.......only I learned how to work out with free wieghts in High School (football team).
I figure I want to buy a good system because I want to work out at my home. It is kinda embarrarsing if you can't lift the bar. Plus, I will use it (or something else) throughout my career.
I've had a Bowflex for around three years, and really like it.
It's not terrific for aerobic exercise. There's this rowing thing you do with it, but I don't particularly care for it. It's great for weight/resistance training. I used it around 3-4 times a week for a long time, until recently. I find that even one decent workout a week will maintain what I've accomplished. If anything, it's made me lazy because I always know I can quickly recover from a...lapse.
I paid $1,500 in installments, but you might be able to pick one up at a yard sale for less at this point. I've never seen them there, but then, I haven't been to a yard sale in a really long time.
Get it, and take up jogging or bikeriding or swimming or something. Might hook you up well enough.
