He's testing the 83 this week, and they haven't announced their driver lineup next year. Would be cool to see him sign with BK, since he doesn't have a ride next year.
That would be awesome. I have my fingers crossed.
I was around Alex a lot when he was running in the quarter midgets and midgets. He is a really nice down to earth kid, and he is a natural in a race car.I was really impressed by him in and ARCA and nationwide. We might have 7 real rookies next year

Didn't he have a sponsorship problem that caused him not to be able to run the last race?I was shocked RAB Racing fired him. He won two poles and was very competitive considering the equipment he had. He is definitely good enough to drive in Cup though
I'm shocked one of the bigger teams hasn't looked at developing him in a Nationwide or Truck team. This guy is a real talent and I'm not sure driving for BK will help him long term. Certainly getting Cup car experience is always good and if he doesn't have a ride lined up then he better take it. If I was JGR I would have given him a couple of races at least, in one of their many NNS cars.
This is a desperation move by BK. They have to find a driver that is faster then Danica, she is hitting too many BK cars, they can't afford the bodywork.
He doesn't come with sponsorship so even though he's a wheel man, he'll have to pull a kligerman and make the move with a lower tier team. Better than nothing
Bowman would be doing something if he could do that. It will be interesting to see that if he gets a shot. BK mobiles aren't that fast and Bowman doesn't have any experience like Kurt had. But anyway, glad he might have a shot at the show. Kvapil and Gilliland are probably shaking in their boots. He'll run circles around danica

Well I don't think Kyle Larson brought any sponsorship did he? I don't think it's an absolute prerequisite if you can really drive, but I'm not an owner either. There's other guys that haven't really brought much but teams have given them a shot.
He'll end up replacing Kvapil.
He used to be a teammate to a kid that i hauled his midget, so i was around Alex a lot when he ran out in California. But, the last time i talked to Alex was at the Chili Bowl a few years ago. I have a friend that has talked to him on the phone a couple of times this year. I will be pretty excited if he gets this ride.Haven't you been following him for a while?
But Larson is basically the LeBron James of NASCAR, transcendent talent with a load of hype. So sponsors have no problem joining up with him. While Bowman has a load of talent, he doesn't have a developmental deal with any cup team and he made a mistake going to nationwide with a mediocre team, who in turn released him. This is going to be a continued problem for really talented under the radar drivers like kligerman, cole Whitt, and now apparently bowman. Might as well drive the 83 and try to turn some heads
I guess what I'm left wondering is why he doesn't have a development deal. Guys like Darrell Wallace, Ryan Blaney, Ryan Truex just to name a few, I believe have all signed dev. deals with Cups teams. So why hasn't Bowman? Is there something behind the scenes that I'm not aware of?
Also, I think if you compare Bowman's performance last year in a RAB car, to Larson driving a Turner car that Alex did quite well for himself. In fact I'd say he overachieved big time, and I'm surprised that he didn't garner more attention in doing so.
I was wondering the same thing. Larson is over shadowing a lot of young talent, but it seems Bowman was completely under the radar. I guess he needs a few more races to make a name for himself since he doesn't have big name friends or family in NASCAR.
