Watkins Glen, N.Y. - NASCAR was furious during today's race when a young boy was caught on the television coverage while stealing a racing banner from the racetrack barrier.
Mike Helton and Gary Nelson immediately contacted security, who were on assignment at the local Wal-Mart picking up some post race supplies for Tony Stewart, and have them arrest the boy along with his parents. The boy, Jack Dabanner age 11, his father, Kype Dabanner age 61 and his mother, Stella Dabanner, age 19 were all escorted to the NASCAR trailer. After commenting on how nice the trailer was compared to theirs, they were heavily scorned and fined by Nascar in accordance with section 29.34 "actions detramental to the human race" and section 34.12 "the rear template failed to fit the wife's rear deck lid". Sources say their fine could possibly reach the hundred dollar mark.
The boy also tried to steal Tony Stewart's racing uniform, but was caught "brown-handed". The stolen banner was also retrieved by Nascar and returned to it's sponsor, Royal Crown Cola. A Powerade spokesman appeared and gave the family a huge banner that they could fly freely at the trailer park as long as they agreed not to block it.
Mike Helton stated that they would take "immediate action by installing an electric fence and snipers starting at Michigan."
