One for you Logano fans out there. I just read this article. Some good quotes in there.

Brad Keselowski sees what his Penske Racing teammate Joey Logano has gone through the last few weeks and can look back on his own career for similar challenges.

In the years before he became the 2012 Sprint Cup champion, Keselowski had to stand up to Denny Hamlin and Carl Edwards, two drivers who questioned Keselowski’s racing style and retaliated against him on the track.

“It’s typical old guard (vs.) new guard thing,” Keselowski said last week at Martinsville Speedway. “Joey is trying to establish himself as an elite driver in this sport and trying to join that rank, whether that’s the top-12 that make the Chase or those that are capable of contending for race wins year-in and year-out.

“Certainly, there’s going to be resistance to that, and he’s going to have to fight through that. It’s a real test of character for him.”

Pretty much the way it goes. After all the "sliced Bread" hype died down because of no wins, joey was was pretty much a mid packer. He gets a break because of A.J.'s screw up to go to Penske..has to be better than running with those two egomaniacs at Gibbs. It is proving to be so, neither one of those two would be defending him right now or lifting a finger to help him. Attitude is everything, Brad K much better fit for young Joey as a teammate. Joey starts running better, his wonderful x teammate dumps him first chance he gets..oh well on and on we all know the story.

"Joey Logano targeted because he's a threat"

This Jedi mind trick worked for Kez, but I'm not sure it will work for Joey. He needs to stop questioning himself all the time and drive with confidence, and having a 'me and my team against the world' attitude may do the trick. At Fontana, not even Kyle could run with Denny on those new tires, so it's clear to me that Logano has some real talent.

What else could Kez say? My teammate is a target because he's a butt munch?

As crazy as it sounds I think tweeting was a factor.
Denny and Joey smacked talked each all week for foreplay, and then they finshed with a bang on the track.
After a weeks worth of talking the ego becomes a factor and obstructs some thinking, so it the last lap show down and you have to back all that big talk up.

But after some 16 days things are getting thin, Joey just needs to be strong at Texas at let the all the rivalry stuff simmer down. It is a what you done lately world.

I think joey's problems are exactly because he has been pushed around. I don't see the deal at california as any more than hard racing. let me ask this when has joey just outright dumped anyone?? I don't recall seeing it. This could be part of joey's problem contending for race wins. lets say your right in front of someone like tony stewart. you know he hates blocking already and isn't afraid to dump a guy. when you are going into the corner as hard as you can go, its easier to make a mistake or even just let the guy go.

I agree. Biffle dumped him 2 or 3 times in NW, Harvick dumped him in NW and cup, and Joey backed way off instead of responding in kind. Hamlin and (to a lesser extent) Kyle used him up in both NW and Cup races and considered him merely a helper for their goals. Kyle seemed to change that attitude later on, but Hamlin clearly never did. I've heard many a rookie complain that the vets always tell you what you need to give them, but when it's your turn to take a little, they just won't give.

If you're giving these drivers some control over how you race for the past 4 years, they aren't going to give back that control without a fight.

Good for Brad!
I think that he and Joey are gonna be a formidable duo that the rest of the pack is gonna have to deal with for the rest of this year - and for years to come!

Mr. Penske hit a home run by signing Kez. And I think that he may have hit another by signing Joey.
Sam Hornish has to be shaking his head at what might have been...

Nah, if sam keeps running like he is, he will be fine.

Agreed. But had he been ready, he could have been in Brad's seat - or at the very least, Joey's seat!
He's been doing well in N'wide and I hope that he continues to do well!

Within a few more weeks Penske needs to make a decision. If the #22 keeps getting dumped deliberately Rogers going to have to make a move...He can put the word out to the other owners, that their sponsors will be contacted by his marketing dept, and given an oppertunity to join the Penske corp for far less than what their paying elsewhere....OR... He's going to have to put Hornish in a third Sprint Cup car just to play BULLY....Anybody dumps the #2 or #22, Sam goes right after them and takes them out...

I'll... just...uhhhh.... leave this one.. other than ^^ those... I'm just going to sit back and wait. It's bound to be a good show. GO JOEY!!

Sorry for the double double post.. could be worse though I could have put this part in another one instead of editing it in.. :p

Wasn't there a TV soap opera called Melrose Place? You're turning this into an international conspiracy, including 007 Hornish, Sam Hornish.

I'm wondering if some of the drivers see that Denny's left turn is what caused the wreck. Before that, it's Joey loose and sliding up the track and refusing to lift and show Hamlin respect.

Oooooh they know.. they're just not sure who's side they want to be on publicly lol.

...command them to dump Pennzoil on the track whenever a rival gets too close to Joey's rear bumper.

I've been watching Roger Penske for my entire racing life, first with his IndyCar operations, and now with his NASCAR teams, and I don't know where you came up with such bull**** that he would try to bludgeon the other teams into submission by threatening their sponsors.

Owners stealing sponsors in NASCRAP is nothing new...Happens every year...Lets take BUDWIESER for example...15 differant drivers since 1983...and if they go with Harvick to SHR next year it will Bud's 8th differant team in the same time period....Where did the Mikey "The Puke" Waltrip get the NAPA sponsorship....YEP...He stole it from the Earnhardt Family, less than a year after Dale died...When Mikey stole the 5-Hour Energy sponsorship from Rusty Wallace, it put him out of business...Dozens more examples out there....You just have open the closet door once in awhile and take a PEEK out..........

The only reason he beat Denny is because Denny didnt show up ;)
I think that was the joke.. I'm pretty sure he already knew that. But I mean hey a bad run at Martinsville mans nothing. Especially when your battery shuts off for no apparent reason in the middle of the race.

What about the bad runs at Daytona, Bristol, and Phoenix? Do those mean nothing too? :)

Ok can we drop the "Joey has one up on Denny, because Denny got hurt" act. Denny got hurt because of an accident he had, not because Joey put him there.

Oh you mean the fuel pump issues and the day Denny dumped him running 2nd? No not really.. o_O

You know what they say excuses are like, right?

Well what can I say? Still doing better on the season than 4 past champions.. so they have to be doing something right. LOL I'll be the first to admit I'm an A$$hole.. doesn't mean that's not what happened. Plus like I said, running bad at Martinsville doesn't mean much.. it's good to run good everywhere but there are guys who have been going there for over 10 years that still have bad races there. I'm more excited about the performance so far on the intermediate tracks as those have always seemed to be Joey's weak spot which I believe was a big part of him not doing well the past few years given that the majority of races are run on that track type. Guess we'll see. Still think he's about to have the best season of his career.

No, I mean where he finished 19th, 26th, and 17th, plus the 23rd at M'ville. Those days.

That's not saying much.

Still don't think not being good at Martinsville makes a driver.. Matt Kenseth had only led 76 laps in like 20 something starts there until last week and he's a champion. At least Joey has a 2nd place finish.. noticed you forgot to mention that one in your almighty stats lol. I know he's not great at Martinsville. That means nothing. He was always lacking at short tracks and intermediate, which I know is most of the schedule lol but last year he started doing better with top 10s at Bristol and Dover and wins at both in NNS and leading most laps at Bristol in cup only to lose to pit strategy. Which impressed me because going into those races I didn't expect great things. This year he seems to be picking it up significantly on the intermediate tracks as well. So say what you gotta say but so far so good for the 22 team!

..not saying much? It clearly says he's getting better. Which is my only point.

I know you just get your kicks on putting people down or whatever so go ahead and make some more references to races from past seasons and throw some stats at me or whatever you have to do to make yourself feel good lol. Doesn't change the fact that Joey is looking better than he ever has before regardless of how you see it.

Care to show me where I put people down??? I can debate without throwing out insults. Now you on the other hand, I have seen hurl out many insults. Practice what you preach.

I don't NEED to throw out stats to make my argument sound good. Joey makes my case for me. ;)
