BREAKING NEWS: Mayfield Motorsports is done!

Mayfield Motorsports will not enter to run at Dover International, and a very reliable source told me all the employees that showed up at work yesterday were told to go home.

Jeremy screwed a lot of people over.

I certainly enjoy the opinions and banter here but DANG, you people are a tough bunch. Mayfield has been running a Mom and Pop shoe string team this year. This whole ordeal has without a doubt taken its licks on him and his family. He is in the midst of a legal battle with a company that has unlimited funds and how could he have funded a race team while trying to defend himself?

How many "hanging judges" do we have here?

Jeremy brought it on himself, as he has done most of his career.

For a small operation, he had some decent part time sponsosrs in Big Red Soda and All Sport. Maybe they jump to another underfunded team struggling to get by?

I would think Big Red could afford to go to a mid to upper level team for a few races since it is a very popular drink in the south, amongst the largest demographic of NASCAR fans.

Slap it on the #14.

Jeremy Mayfield has been accused of something without the accusers making the proof public. Is he supposed to be able to maintain his business operation if the sanctioning body won't let him compete?

lol sure for twice the money Tony would be happy to slap a small decal on his car. But on a small team what would be an assoc sponsor on a big team would be main sponsor and much more exposure.

Quick, we need another race filler, who can we call?

Shane Hmiel, no suspended, Kevin Grubb, no deceased.

Wheres Shawna Robinson?

I was hoping he would continue running the team as the owner(i know he wasn't officially allowed to own it). They already put all that money into the team, might as well run it with another driver. Oh well...

That company should have the money though.

They do not have to make the proof public, in fact because of privacy issues they are NOT supposed to.
BUT Jeremy and his lawyer know and have the toxicology reports that "IF" he is truly innocent they could prove to the world with them.

NASCAR can not tell what it was because it infringes on Jeremy's privacy. For the same reasons Drs. and hospitals can not release to the public your medical condition without your permission, but you can tell the world if you want to, and so could Jeremy.

Aren't you wondering why this hot slick attorney hasn't filed papers with the court? "IF" they were holding the proof Jeremy was innocent don't you think they would have immediately filed an injunction to force NASCAR to let Jeremy race until they could get their court date?

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, smells like a duck, it is usually a duck.

This is NASCAR's way of saying "We can ruin you, and don't think we won't" to the rest of the people that make their living making those bastards rich.

Oh yeah..

I'm dancing to Eagle1's tune!!
Betsy;)

Oh, did NASCAR make him take any kind of drug?

He hired a high profile lawyer, Jeremy didn't need a lot of money for this lawyer because those bottom feeders LOVE to get a hold of a case they can make them settle for a big chunk of cash and then the lawyer keeps 90%.
No if Jeremy was innocent they'd be in court.

No this is NASCAR saying you do ANY kind of recreational drug and your butt is gone.

And BTW, by being in NASCAR these drivers and team owners have become pretty damn rich too along with NASCAR.
Hey, they could always go drive in ARCA or USAC, you think they'd make the millions they do there?

ARCA pays jack and ****.

Allright, let's talk facts, since you seem to know something that we don't. Exactly which "recreational drug" was Mayfield found guilty of by absentia in your court?

I guess you can't read, or you do not understand the laws protecting YOUR privacy from people blabbing your medical condition to the world.

IF Jeremy was really innocent he could have told you what drug they claimed to find in his system.

What I know is one of the top drug testing labs in the country tested Jeremy and found him guilty.

NASCAR did not test Jeremy the lab did.
NASCAR did not find Jeremy guilty, the lab did.
There was a second test done and the findings were the same.
3 completely separate experts in the field from 3 different labs ALL said it was impossible for what Jeremy claimed to have happened to produce the results that the test indicated.
If 3 independent people could come to that conclusion it tells me the lab crossed its "T's" and dotted it's "I's" by having independents verify the findings.

I don't need to know what substance They found, and neither do you, same as the word don't need to know you use viagra.

You said that he used a recreational drug. That's the only place I've heard that said. If you're going to be making statements and claiming them as fact, you'd better have something to back it up.

NASCAR chairman Brian France on Friday said Mayfield tested positive for a "serious infraction," defining serious as performance-enhancing or recreational drugs. Sources have ruled out it was performance enhancing.
