Well, NASCAR.com is reporting that Gaughan will be testing the 77 car this coming week tuesday-thursday. I don't think there's been anything official, but his Truck Series crew chief is listed as the crew chief of the 77 now, so it would seem inevitable that Gaughan will not only test the ride, but take over full time driving duties as well...which means he will be in the ROTY battle...though I think he has the edge on the competition! (IMO)
Does that mean that his pit crew will come with him? Or will they stay with the 62 (Park...maybe?)?
Is anyone else a little too excited about this?
 
I think its all but offical, my guess is that Blaney might be the hold up, trying to make sure the part on good terms befor making the announcment
 
I like Brendon, but I think it's a giant curve to jump straight from trucks to the Cup series.
I'm not so certain about ROTY, he's got a lot of stiff compitition. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if he did win it, just don't think he will.
He's also got an attitude adjustment coming. Right now he's a big fish in a little pond, not sure how he's going to addapt to being a mear minnow again.
 
I hate this dragging on, hopefully they make the announcement monday so they can make the #62 announcement.
 
They do need to hurry up...I hope Steve gets the 62 ride...are they going to keep the number 77? I heard they were going to change to 72.
 
Not sure about the #77 deal, I would think they change it to #72, although I'm not sure what's the big deal about changing the number, unless they just want to have #2 as the 2nd digit. One would think they'd take #62 since no one is currently using that. I haven't anything about anyone else getting the #62 ride since the Benson rumors fizzled out, so I'd expect he'll get the ride, however I'm not getting excited until the announcement is made.
 
Exactly about the 72/62 deal...i think another team must have dibs on the 62 or something.
