Brent Musburger

I'm bored, okay?

Anyway, apparently a lot of fans didn't like Brent Musburger or Brad Daughetry. I'm just confused here, because I thought they were a breath of fresh air from the horrid commentary of Punch, Wallace and Suzy Kolber.

I'd rather hear, "You are looking live at the Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte" than have to hear Suzy's grating voice. And, I thought Daughetry had a wide understanding of the sport, moreso than some of their veteran commentators.

What did you all think?

Also, the whole Rhianna "Shut Up and Drive" ABC/ESPN theme is proving to be another infamous highlight of ESPN's reign of terror. I like the song, but it has nothing to do with NASCAR and I wish they would've picked something that white people (majority of racing fans) listen to. I DIDN'T like that they used Rhianna for ESPN. Just not appealing. TNT got it right with Born to be Wild (which is on Hinder's new album BTW and on my phone as a ringer).

I thought Brad made some interesting assesments, he was or is a team owner so he knew that side or it real well. What I am tire of is stupid people in the pit pretending to be reporters. Most an fan could make more inteligent assesments then these yokels. No offence intended, but they are usually women and the gal in the WOO DLM program has to be the worst.( The blonde gal has to be the worst, the dark haired gal at least tries.

I don't mind the three in the booth(Nascar) Rusty and Andy will get better, it was there first year. Duane

I thought Brad Daugherty was one of the worst parts of the show. I didn't feel he offered any real insight with his comments and was basically boring. I didn't mind Brent Musburger or Suzy Kolber. I thought Suzy was great when she did football and and Brent was a great at all the sports he's covered. I think they were just new to NASCAR, and will better than some others eventually.

I can't stand Suzy's voice! It's grating. Her comments were typical of a sports reporter who knows nothing about NASCAR.

Jamie Little's a moron. Shannon Spake's decent.

Who was the little twit that asked Mark, "How much of that impact did your body absorb?"

Mark said, "What kind of question is that?" :XXROFL: :XXROFL: :XXROFL:

Having been watching SportsCenter and ESPN for NFL highlights on my Jacksonville Jaguars, I can tell the network as a whole is troubled.

They ran a 7 minute documentary about the Jets/Patriots rivalry and talked about how Bill Belichick and Erik Mangeni hated each other. They talked about how they don't get along at all. Then, CBS interviewed them after the game, they shook hands and said the whole thing was overplayed. No mention of the handshake from ESPN though, they continued overhyping the drama.

They also talk about how college teams are arch rivals because they played each other once and had a really close game, kinda like the Junyer/Gordon incident.

ESPN's so anxious to include the element of drama to make an otherwise boring game (like NYJ@NE) exciting.

Furthermore, ABC sucks.

Why does Disney put it's highest rated show EVER on Disney Channel and never air it on ABC?

It almost seems like ABC/ESPN/Disney are counting on Miley Cyrus and High School Musical to save their networks.

As far as change for next year, I expect no changes to be made to their announcing crew. ESPN's committed to what they've got.

Prepare for another Chase of :snooze:

I thought Brent did good with the cards he's been dealt. :idunno:

I think they should put Brad in the announcing booth with Jarrett and Alan and then loose all the other clowns (minus Musburger).

I don't really care for Brent Musburger or Brad Daughetry.

BTW: Steppenwolf's born to be wild is better! :p

Hell no it's not.

I love the TNT version. It's a little more modern. I like the instrumental version to that they break out at the end of the race.

TNT rocks!

Music to it is a little more hevy metal/punk rockish, but the lyrics just suck. Johnny Kay is da man!

Sorry for the drift. But i really dont care for many of the guys on the tv yacking. The guys that did the Prelude at the Big E, knew NOTHING about dirt racing. They should of got the guys that do the WoO and Lusas guys from ESPN/Speed to do the broadcast.

I think commentary is one of the keys to sports.

Bill Weber could be replaced and I wouldn't care. But, he's more of an asset than anybody on ESPN/ESPN2/ESPN3/ABC because he is a great writer. I love reading his columns every week. I think he offers a great deal to the broadcasts. Same with Mike Joy.

The guys on FOX and TNT contribute a lot of information in their commentary and such, but these fools on ESPN are just useless morons. They offer absolutely no insight, and their broadcasts are very amateur.

TNT got it right, for the most part. Two drivers who really know what they're talking about in the booth, with continued commentary from LarryMac who can chime in at any time, and a lot of experience on pit road. Ralph's been at it for a long time, as has Marty and Yokum. Lindsay's new to the NASCAR gig but she offers A LOT of insight between her extensive knowledge of Washington Sports and her ARCA experience at SPEED. Her blog is also very interesting to read, seeing as she takes questions from NBC4's viewers.

Plus, she has a big name now after the murder of Sean Taylor. She covered Miami sports when he was there and was the first sports commentator on the air on that very sad morning when the Washington Redskins lost Sean Taylor. There are a lot of sports stories, and there's always that one that gives somebody a name.

Side note: NBC4 slipped to ABC7 in total viewers last month after ABC7 hired a whole new crop of field reporters.

IMO, the TNT crew is way underused. They all have way more experience than the ESPN on ABC crew.

FOX has a solid crew, just never been my cup of tea. I've always liked Steve Byrnes though. He used to play basketball for the Maryland Terripans.

I like Suzy Kolber. Not to mention she is nice to look at. She is a very attractive woman!

Hey, Andy, when drag racing starts back up, watch s sunday broadcast. I dare you to listen to the top end interviews. Just keep something around to collect the blood from your ears so you dont stain the floor. They have Gary Gerrould from the IRL and every interview "How do you feel?". ESPN just has no clue how to run a show. Drag racing is 4 hours tape delayed and they still can't get their act together half the time. I think it was Scelzi who said this year that the top end interviwws arent even interviews- it's the same question and same answer for every interview and driver, they just say the same thing purposely snince there isn't much to talk about on a 4 sec run.

I don't watch NHRA. Only drag races I watch are the IHRA races at Maryland. I used to, but I've kind of lost interest in NHRA over the years. A large part of that is because everything's on tape and they just don't seem to do very well with it at all. ESPN's always (dating back to when I was a kid) had problems with covering NHRA. They just don't have the concept of drag racing nailed yet.

Personally, I think the elimination races they don't air on ESPN are the most exciting. When you've got a points contender (I don't know if the NHRA protects it's points contenders) that gets knocked out in eliminations, things get real interesting.

Primetime drag racing is the best. Get those boys out to Maryland on a Friday night in 40-60 temperatures and you're really going to seperate the men from the boys.

DanicaRules, Suzy looks like a living mess that just got out of bed. Then again, I don't know, maybe you like that look. ;)

I just can't bare having to listen to her. :bleh:

Lindsay looks better, IMO.

I'd rather ESPN put Alvin the Chipmunk on for 2 hours to host NASCAR Countdown.

be careful what you ask for. No telling how many botles of helium ESPN might have around.

It can't be any worse than listening to Alexis Glick during msnbc's coverage of Hurricane Rita.

She looked great, but her voice is so high pitched.

So you're saying I need to forward this to Patrick so she'll know the depth of your commitment. That'd go real well for you.
Then again, if she thought you were casting your net wider it may pull her closer. Can't never tell about women...

:XXROFL:

Lisa Renna's good looking for her age. Jennifer Connelly's great for her age. But not Suzy Kolber. :bleh:

I would shrivel up and die if I had to hear her voice 24/7.

Now we all know that if she were laying next to you, whispering sweet nothings into your ear, the ceiling would be wet. You aren't kidding anyone...

No one will ever be as nice as Danica. She is in a league of her own! She will always be #1 in my book.:D

I got a poster of Danica from work. They put sports athlete posters up everywhere. I saw the one of Danica (they also had Junyer and Denny Hamlin from Virginia) and mentioned that she was my favorite IndyCar Series driver. They gave it to me and it's hanging on my wall.

She's not as hot as Kiera Knightely though. :growl:

On a side note: I got bored and read my sister's celebirty trash magezines until I found the Southern Maryland Dictionary written by Jeff Foxworthy. Ugh.

Let's see: Britney, Britney, Paris, Lindsay Lohan, Britney, Ashley Tisdale is afraid to break up with her b/f, Britney, Anna Nicole (who is still dead, in case you were wondering), Britney, Britney's sister knocked up, Britney, Carrie Underwood, Britney, Jessica Simpson, Britney, Jessica Simpson, Britney, SHOCKER: Miley makes out with boy, Britney, BREAKING Britney Baby News, and more Britney.

How can people read this garbage?
