WELCOME, N.C. - Richard Childress Racing has signed a multi-year agreement with Brian Scott to drive the No. 2 Shore Lodge Chevrolet for the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series.
Scott, 24 of Boise, Idaho, has twice finished in the top 10 in points in three full seasons of competition. He finished eighth in 2011 and ninth this past year. He finished 14th and was runner-up in the series' Rookie of the Year standings in 2010. Phil Gould, car chief for the No. 2 team in 2012 and with previous experience at RCR as a car chief in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, has been promoted to crew chief for the team.

In the opinion of MOEJOE: Brian Scott is a talentless turd with no hope if it were not for family money.
I feel good that the people in that shop got to keep their jobs, but hello car fixing time. Brian wrecks more cars than Danica. If that is possible.

This is how I feel. I think there were more deserving drivers to fill the seat, like maybe Joey Coulter. Oh well.

I don't know if people ever sit back and think ... this saved a lot of jobs. The #2 crew would have been out of work had someone not been hired to fill that seat. I don't think many people like the fact Brian Scott got the ride over someone like Johanna Long (who REALLY deserves a quality ride) or James Buescher, ect ... we could throw out deserving names all night long. But at the end of the day this gives Scott a chance to put up, or shut up and it keeps crew members working. Think big picture. Just my 2 cents. :)

Seems like a step down from Elliott Sadler , don't quite understand how RC let this all happen.

If Brian couldn't prove himself in JGR cars, he doesn't stand much chance at RCR. The problem with Richards formula is the really talented crew members are in it for wins, and they won't hang around long.

Looking back at it, it sure seems like Childress got the good end of the deal, doesn't it?

Love it when RCR hires less than stellar drivers. Hope he keeps the body shop busy :owquitit:
