Brian Vickers article

I read that article and like you, it shocked me. My opinion is that the story was quite exaggerated to fit the magazine. I'm sure that his PR people are working on this. If it is indeed true, NASCAR will probably schedule him for testing on a regular basis.

I just finished reading that article and honestly wished I had never seen it.

WOW! I don't know what else to say.

i thought about this and the only image that came to mind was tim richmond. i think he gave maxim an interview and the writer stretched it to the point of being unbelievable (imo (i hope)).

Yeah, but the difference between Tim Richmond and Brian Vickers is that Tim was one hell of a racecar driver...

Thats why I read Maxim only for the pictures.

In fact, until just now, I didn't know they actually used words.

no doubt about it. vickers isn't even close to tim in talent. i was referring to the lifestyles, playboy, ladies man, drinking and carousing, etc.... personally, i think the article is bs.

Man i hope that story is extreeeeeeeeeeemely exaggerated cause I wont look at vickers the same way if it is. I always saw him as the more level headed of the younger guys racing. But sounds like hes just another punk that thinks he can do anything and will end up getting busted with a DUI or something and loose everything that tons of racers would kill for.

A 27 year old likes alcohol and *****. Oh the humanity! Oh wait, just like every other 27 year old bro ever.

Oh please..... to think a single Nascar driver likes to drink, party and chase ladies....what is the world coming too?! I don't know if any of you have ever read articles about Tony Stewart, but he makes Vickers look like a Saint! This is nothing new and does not shock me in the least.

I never realized Vickers was that still that young...seems like he's been around for while.

But yeah, so he doesn't have a kid to shove in front of the cameras every week or couple of nasty divorces behind him...he's young and living it up.

Personally, the whole Nascar family thing turns me off a bit as not everybody has a family so are those people not supposed to be Nascar fans?

Then again, many of us do have kids so we really don't need to see what they look like as we have them to worry about every day.

Of course, when I think about some of the #### I did when I was around 27...and if I'd have had the resources Vickers has...wow!

Yeh...no kidding....lol:beerbang:

It is naive for anyone to brush off excesses by Brian Vickers as being nothing more than an young man chasing ladies and boozing it up.
The most disturbing part is a young man who apparently finds nothing wrong with going on a drinking binge and/or drinking until blacking out.
It is unfortunate that Vickers and the writer chose to point out the binge, blackout drinking, behavior and bringing it to the forefront as if it is the "in" thing to do as a form of fun. Make no mistake, blackout, binge drinking, is dangerous. Very dangerous.

Perhaps those who find this behavior acceptable or choose to lightly dismiss the behavior have never seen or do not fully understand the end results of black out boozing and the potential of dangerous end results. It isn't a pretty picture.

Been there done that got the t-shirt like they say, back in my younger days in college, still not sure why this shocks anyone? Don't get me wrong I'm not condoning this type of behavior, by any means, but when you mix a lot of money with the lifestyle these guys lead....that is sometimes the result, actually more typical. So why aren't people coming down on Tony Stewart for his lifestyle?

What's Tony's lifestyle? Got some reading for me?

Don't get me wrong --- I'm not some prude that believes every one lives a pure life.

The article bothered me because I just didn't see Vickers living that type of life. I always heard him espouse clean living, and then this pops up.

Him doing extreme sports is nothing new. He still works out a ton. He just likes poon and scotch. I dont see what the big deal is.

I think this was too fit the lifestyle image that Maxim tries to portray to their readers. They usually market to the lonely bachelor who thinks this is the lifestyle that most "athletes" live. It could be true Red Bull probably loves the fact that their two drivers are known has "ladies men" but I think it was all stretched a little bit.

Vickers has the right to live his life as he sees fit...exactly like the rest of us.

In the 09/2001 issue of Playboy, Dale Jr. admits in an interview that he took shrooms and smoked weed......just sayin.

Wait, are you saying that you read Playboy for the articles? :D

Actually I'm a huge SURVIVOR fan and I bought the Playboy because Jerri from SURVIVOR: The Australian Outback was on the cover. Later on I was like "oh cool a dale jr. interview". Then I was like "oh WOW Dale Jr. just admitted to taking shrooms and smoking weed".

Wait, are you saying that you read Playboy for the articles? :D

Doesn't everybody? I especially like the joke section on the back of the page of those disgusting scantily clad women (all destined to end up in Hades). See, even for an old fart like me, it means I read Playboy for the articles.:D
