Brickyard 400 Earns Monster Local Rating in Indy

In the Indianapolis TV market, the Brickyard 400 earned an incredible 22.1 rating – outside the Daytona 500, the highest local market rating for any race this year. Indy led the way for 16 markets that had a rating greater than 8.0, including non-traditional NASCAR markets Dayton (10.5), Milwaukee (8.7), Columbus (8.5) and St. Louis (8.2). (Figures from NBC and Nielsen Media Research.) (NASCAR Press Release) (8/7)

Indiana is a HUGE racign town everyone should know that! Durign the Summer racing is the big thing around here. Winter its Basketball!

News flash: This year's Brickyard 400 is the first time a race at the Speedway has aired live on local TV.

Not true every race that has been on NBC has been live

You must live outside of the Indy metro area. I've lived here for 30 years and it was the first race from IMS that I can remember that wasn't taped and played later in the evening.
