I'm interested in seeing the attendance for this race considering Tennessee and Georgia are playing in a big college football game just 2 hours away. The game will be over before the race starts. The demand for tickets to the football game is high.

Are you thinking fans will be staying at home to watch the game live on TV or the 100,000+ fans in attendance at the game would impact Bristol's attendance?
I am a huge college football fan, but with so many options to watch the games on a delayed basis it would never keep me from going to a NASCAR race. Now, if I had a ticket to the game, it's Knoxville for me!

Huh. For some unknown reason, I've always =assumed= flagship universities are in state capitols, that UT was in Nashville. Live and learn.
You'd think that. But it's not the case. It seems like most schools with the name "State" are the ones in the state capitals (i.e. Tennessee State in Nashville, Louisiana State in Baton Rouge, Michigan State in Lansing).

Either or. The game may not impact Bristol since a lot of out-of-towners come in for the race. BMS has almost completely abandoned the Knoxville market for advertising. No mentions of the race anywhere.

Goodyear Fast Facts — Bristol

This weekend, largely similar Goodyear Racing Eagle tire setups await teams in all three series, as NASCAR heads back to Bristol Motor Speedway for the second time this season.

NASCAR Cup Series teams will run the same left-side tire used in April’s spring race, paired with a new softer right-side tire which makes its debut this weekend. It will be the only appearance in 2025 for this right-side tire.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will race on Friday and Thursday evenings respectively, with both series using the same Goodyear Racing Eagle tire setup as in April at the Tennessee track. In fact, this setup includes the same left- and right-side combinations that teams have run on Bristol’s concrete since September 2022. The left-side tires have also been run by teams in both series at a handful of other tracks this year.

“As has been the trend at short tracks this year for the Cup Series, the right side Goodyear Racing Eagle tire will be slightly softer tread rubber than what was raced in April,” said Justin Fantozzi, Goodyear operations manager for global race tires. “The high-banked concrete surface is demanding and continually evolves over 500 laps as rubber is laid down. This tire setup is designed to withstand the heavy loads while still optimizing handling for the drivers.

Xfinity and Truck Series teams will use inner liners on the right-side tires at Bristol.
