Stroker's Theme, by the Charlie Daniels Band. I tend to listen to them a lot on Sunday afternoons, but this song reminds me of Saturday night racing too!

I tried to attach the .mp3, but the file was way too huge. :(

Strokers Theme

Stroker Ace was born to race
He had a mean streak ten feet wide
A son of a gun with a taste for fun
And more than his share of pride
Take a dirt road curve with the Devil's nerve
And make a car dance across the mud
Haulin' shine was his regular line
'Til the track got in his blood

He was a real hot shot and he bragged a lot
But man, that fool could drive
Cause he loved the feel of a steering wheel and the girls with the bedroom eyes
And in a racing tight or a bar room fight
Old Stroker stole the show
A back street blazer and a real hell raiser and a racetrack Romeo

Mama lock your daughters up that wild bunch is back in town
And them little girls get frisky when they hear that racecar sound
They bringin out the yellow flag, somebody's brakes have failed
There's an oilslick on the inside and a wreck along the rail
You better stand on it, Stroker, cause a bandit's on your tail.

It's a downright joy for a country boy
When he hears them engines moan
But you gotta hang tough and it gets real rough
When you're out there on your own
Cause they'll push you around, they'll knock you down
When you're up there against the wall
And you always know when an engine blows
That a man can't win 'em all
You could push that car just a little too far any Sunday afternoon
And if you break your neck in some damn fool's wreck they'd forget about you soon
But old Stroker Ace was born to race and it's worth all the trying
Just to drink champagne in the Victory Lane and to hear that concrete whine

Stroker get your dander up this ain't no time to lag
You've got to make a lap up if you want to take that checkered flag
Number ten is closin' in to even up the score
It's time to wave bye-bye and put the pedal on the floor
You better stand on it Stroker cause you're blowin' off their doors.

Spoken:
Blow their doors off, Stroker. Stand on it, Son. Ah, you good lookin' devil, you.

Woohoo, Bristol! You'd better not rain out on me!!!!

Goodnight, all!

I thought they used that song "The Bristol Stomp" for the theme song. I could be wrong but it seems like they always played that before the race there.

The only reason I ever watch the movie, "Stroker Ace" was to see Dale racing the carts out of the dining room down the hall. And his line was, "I was born ready." Truer words were never spoken.

Do you know, I have never seen that movie?! I had no idea Dale Earnhardt, Ricky Rudd and other real race car drivers were in it! Oh, what I've been missing out on all these years!!!

Think I know what I'll be doing this Sunday -- if the race isn't postponed until then, that is...

"Stroker Ace" was a pretty good movie, but the only reason my dad bought on DVD is also for Dale Earnhardt racing on the carts at the hotel with Kyle Petty.

I always thought a good theme song for Bristol would be "Mama Said Knock You Out"...

"Round and round" by RATT
"Flirtin' with disaster" Molly Hatchet

Earnhardt also made an appearance in "Baseketball" that came out a couple of years ago....

Basketball, huh? Guess that'll be two rentals for Sunday!

Thanks for the tip, Fergy. :D

Basketball isnt the best of movies just so ya know, but Dale was very good in it. I also thought he was in Airplane 2.

Anyway, I always like The Bristol Stomp for the theme song.

Bristol Stomp, huh? I'm trying to get it from LimeWire right now...might have me a little soundtrack for tomorrow! :D

Here are some reviews of the two Dale Earnhardt movies, btw. He actually has a biography in the Internet Movie Database! So does Dale Jr., for the MTV awards. Too bad he's not really 6'2".

Oh, and then there's 43: The Richard Petty Story, which I recently purchased on eBay but still haven't watched.

Should be a full weekend.

Yeah, "Baseketball" ( a game that joins basketball and baseball...don't ask, just watch the movie) wasn't the greatest of all movies, but it has some cool cameos (sp?) by some great sport heroes.

last year before the cup racer thay played AC/DC "Thunder Struck" and this year before the bush race they played AC/DC but forgot the name of the song.
