The Cleveland Browns just announced they have hired Pat Shurmer as their new head coach. He was most recently the offensive coordinator for the St Louis Rams. He helped them go from 1-15 to 7-9 in two years. He also helped Sam Bradford have a great rookie season. It is believed that his work with Bradford was a determining factor in this decision. The Browns are convinced that Colt McCoy is the quarterback of the future and they hope that Shurmer can help him reach his full potential. In addition the Browns offense was just horrible this year and they were determined to hire an offensive minded head coach.
I'm pretty excited about this. He is the guy I wanted if they couldn't get Jon Gruden the leave MNF.
