I fear he will get his request, people with deep pockets usually get the dough while claiming to be self made.

I dont like it, but that makes no difference he is well connected and knows which buttons to push.

The state will get the money back in revenues, they will most likely pay with a smile

I think he got his way with the City of Concord when he wanted to build his dragstrip and they had a fight over it. Burton threatened to move his track to another city in NC.

Nah, he'll just get David Copperfield to make it disappear from Charlotte and make it re-appear at Winston-Salem. *nods*

Maybe, I would like to see an itemized list on the return of the investment.
We could probably also generate plenty of return on other investments as well.

But he will probably get his welfare handout anyway, I am sure it is Charlottes most urgent need.

The rich have little problem becoming richer. Our governor here in Arizona fought hard to get us 2 races a year, it brings in piles of money for the state and everyone else

But Bruton already has 3 cup races at the facility. There is no chance that he gets a fourth one, and I cannot foresee him loosing the All Star race.

He might induce a welfare handout bidding war between Vegas and Charlotte over the fall race date, an award it to highest paying John, but that is the only card I see him playing.
 
Most likely he wants to do some improvements that the avg fan wouldn't notice. Also seat removal to the diamond tower needs to happen.

I don't think he'll get a dime from the state, he can threaten to move all he wants to, but I don't think he will.
