Buckshot Jones is gonna run at Daytona. qualified fairly good. I like old Buckshot hope he finishes good. Could be a fresh :D start for him.

Here's hoping Buckshot has a good race but he is not and never will be Winston Cup material. Buckshot is a mediocre driver who got a ride in both series through buying his way in. He is an example of a very personable guy with limited ability competing in the Busch and Winston Cup level.
Yes ,it would be nice to see him do well, but don't get your hopes up. Strange things have happened at Daytona and Talledega when it comes to winners and top ten finishes, but they don't always carry through to other tracks..

All that Buckshot needs is a good team, a team that unfortunately never surfaced in the 44 he can win in Busch, I think he can win one in Winston or I mean Nextel Cup.

Once---and I am totally serious---I thought Jones was a driver who could run brilliantly at times. In the Busch series he did,in fact, have runs that looked pretty impressive. Not sure he ever had a fair shake with the Petty outfit either.

Or maybe I'm wrong and he's not worth a plugged nickle.I dont know for sure, just have a feeling he has more than the #44 could ever show?

:dual9mm: I have been a Buckshot fan since his Busch days... I took a liking to him he does have talent IMO. He ran in his own car in Busch and being a Drive/Owner, He had a fool for a boss... Over at PE he got the shaft, After firing him how many drivers stepped into that ride and never made anything of it!!! Over at PE there are big problems... One is and again this is IMO they have to spend money to make money... Driving around on a Sunday isn't my idea of a team... John A. Who I think has some talent just got used to driving around with little or no hope of winning... Yes he won a race but even a blind Squirrel gets a nut... I think that it will be interesting to see what he can do remember this car had a top ten finish last year... So the Equipment is there now all he has to is avoid the big one!!! I hope for a Safe race...

If something happens most everyone will blame Buckshot. But you must remember Buchshot hasn't been in a cup car in over a year. Rusty he will be. And I don't mean Wallace. :D

As the quote sez, strange things have happened at Daytona and Talledega but it doesn't always carry over to the other ttracks.

Buckshot did hissef proud in the Pepsi 400 and Greg Biffle deserves every congratulation available. He won fair and square. . DEI cars were without question the class of the field with the 48 and 5 showing some strength. As for the winner, had fuel not come into play it is doubtful there would have been a Ford in the top five, and no matter who had the best car, the fact remains the only thing people see twenty years from now is the win in the record book for Biffle. :D

"As for the winner, had fuel not come into play it is doubtful there would have been a Ford in the top five" I think that there was one thing missed here...IMO the Fords drafted well and Biffle did have two cars in front of him...Bobby had no help and there just isn't enuff Horsepower to get around a car Jr proved that...

BUCKSHOT BUCKSHOT BUCKSHOT He did well!!! That was his forst run in over a year... He stayed out of trouble... Good run for him!!! I hope that this is a fresh start for him!!!

Thought Buckshot done a great job. Considering it was the first time in a while. :D

:) Buckshot ran a very good race last night. He showed that the way he ran in the Petty equipment was not indicative of his ability.

Figured you not to be 'well wishing' Buckshot, being a Randy LaJoie fan. :D

Have a good 'Buckshot' story for ya'll. I'll save it for later since it's getting late for me. :)

:D I think I know what you're reffering to. In 1997 at I think it was Richmond, Randy and Buckshot got together and Buckshot wrecked. Buckshot thought it was Randy's fault and parked his car on the apron facing the racetrack waiting for Randy to go by. When Randy went by Buckshot shot his car across the track, trying to take out Randy, but he missed and tore his car up even worse. That's the funniest thing I've ever seen in a race to this date. I don't hold grudges though, if they improve their behavior and attitude, which I feel Buckshot has.

Actually they have had a few 'run-ins' on the track. No one sticks out in my mind that I could remember, but I'm sure Buckshot has taken Randy out...whether it was a racing deal or not. :dual9mm:

Roush Racing has a opening in their Busch car and Randy's unemployed. :D

Jack's probably already called him. :D

I got this at the message board that was started by one of my old TR chat buddies. One of the gals, who lives down in GA posted this msg on 5/11/2002. Mostly because Buckshot was a wrecking ball out there on the track.

"Hi Guys. I just had to tell everyone this funny story. Yesterday, while I was at work, I ran into Buckshot Jones. Well, I didn't REALLY run into him, but I saw him shopping with a friend. Now, this is not unusual, his parents live in the same town as I do, so he's around quite a bit. So, as soon as I saw him leave the store, I get on the phone to call a friend of mine to tell her I just saw a (former) NASCAR driver. So, while I'm on hold waiting for her to get to the phone, Buckshot walks back in. So, by this time, I'm already laughing because I had to make up some reason why I had called my friend since he was only standing 3 feet from me. He asks one of the cashiers to page the person in the store driving a green Intrepid. So, she does. Well, the lady who owns the green Intrepid was already standing in line, so she says, "That's me." Buckshot says..."I hit your bumper" LMAO. Poor guy. He can't even drive in a parking lot. I had to leave the front of the store before I hit the floor in laughter. True story guys. I would not make this up. I wonder if the woman knows who it was that hit her...LOL."

After everyone made some comments she posted this a few days later...

"Even though it's funny now, I really did feel sorry for him. He had the saddest look on his face. You're right Milly, at least he was honest, I guess he could have just drove away. What made it even worse is that he had to come back in the store and ask for change and how to use the copy machine so he could make a copy of his insurance card. Maybe good luck will find Buckshot soon..."

I don't think I ever heard Randy call him Buckshot, he always called him Roy. :D
