As expected, Budweiser will become the primary sponsor for Kasey Kahne and the #9 Dodge in 2008, sources confirmed Thursday. The deal for Budweiser to sponsor Kahne has been in the works for more than two months. GEM officials first had to make sure Dodge representatives were OK with the change. The Dodge dealers sponsor two GEM cars -- Kahne and the #19 driven by Elliott Sadler. Finalizing the deal with Budweiser also took longer than expected because all the parties had to agree on the percentages for licensing revenues.(ESPN.com)(9-14-2007)

Dodge statement regarding Kahne's sponsor: Responding to the media advisory from Gillett Evernham Motorsports that a multi-year sponsorship agreement for Kasey Kahne and the #9 Dodge has been finalized and will be announced on Tuesday, Mike Accavitti, Director – Dodge Brand and SRT Marketing and Communications, issued the following statement: “When Dodge made its return to the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series in 2001 with Ray Evernham and Evernham Motorsports, a key component of the program was the sponsorship of the 9 and 19 by our Dodge Dealers. That partnership with Evernham Motorsports has produced significant on-track results and has been a viable platform for our dealer group to showcase the Dodge DNA of power and performance. During the past seven years, the Dodge family has grown to multiple teams with multi-car operations. That’s created new opportunities and challenges for Dodge as we focus on the future and our goal of winning races and competing for the championship in NASCAR’s premier series. Additional sponsorship support of the No. 9 Dodge Avenger, driven by Kasey Kahne, in 2008 gives Dodge the opportunity to redirect valuable resources toward the challenges facing all our teams. We welcome the new partnership and look forward to working with Gillett Evernham Motorsports toward the goal we share with all teams in the Dodge family, the Nextel Cup. This does not change our commitment to be the manufacturing leader in NASCAR’s premier series, win races and consistently contend for the Nextel Cup. We now have the opportunity to apply additional resources to areas that can directly impact the on-track performance of all our teams and expand marketing opportunities for our dealers.” (Dodge/ClearBlue PR)

I still don't think Kasey and Bud is the right combo.....I can relate to DW, Dale Earnhardt, Dale JR, Ken Schrader....they are good ol' boys.....Kasey is not a good ol' boy...pretty far from it in my book....i just can not see myself drinkin a beer with him.....maybe a dew, but not a bud.

I agree. That is what I have said all along. It is because Kasey has such a baby face.

This might explain his erratic driving to the Allstate Girls.

Well let's see. Who would connect Bill Elliott with Coors beer? As a long fan of his, I've seen him sponsored by many different companies and Coors wasn't the only beer company. How about Bud? Hmmmm, Elliott - Bud, now Kahne and Bud and Kahne and the #9. Though Junior did a fantastic job plugging Bud, I don't think AB will be using Kasey in the same way...then again, who knows.

McDonalds was the best sponsor for Elliot. :D

Judy Fleming, Dana Gilhooley-Pieper, Jennifer Biederman
I still think they could work them into the Bud commercials. It may boost their careers.

Hmmmm, so I'm not the only one who's been lookin' to see where they've been. :) I'd say that Allstate is about all they've done.

I see lots of safe driving and drunk driving awareness commercials in Kasey's future

Haha I wondered how the Insurance ads would fit with beer ads.
Kasey doesn't look old enough to drink let alone be the bud man.
I always see those commercials with those women and think leave that poor baby alone lol

when he get a beer belly they'll change it to the bud light car :D

Kasey's first bud commercial "If you're gonna drink and drive at least drink budweiser"

No, they'll have Kasey in a bar and it'll go something like:
"If you're going to drink remember to drink in moderation...<camera pans to a table with Judy Fleming, Dana Gilhooley-Pieper, Jennifer Biederman sitting at it>...or you may end up going home with one of these three... :D
