Am beginning to wonder if the shouldn't put some kind of limit on former shootout winners. Maybe like 10 years or so. Kind of bad when they are having guys from the 80's getting in solely because of that. I mean I like Kenny, Bill and Terry, but I don't think that they really have a place just because of something 15 years ago.

I think they should continue (even after Terry and Mark retire) as long as they continue to be in the Cup. :) I'm not sure about Bodine since he's not racing on a regular basis. Might be alittle two faced of me to say he shouldn't. ;)

Isn't the rule that they have to qualify for so many races in a year before they qualify?
With the same guys winning so many poles, it's nice to have these guys in it too because there wouldn't be to many racing if not, only 12 guys. Between 3 guys, they won half the poles for the year.

I THINK that it's not just by poles won, but includes past Champions, 2004 race winners, and other stuff.

the winston is for race winners, the but shoot out is poles and past winners only

sorry but it will always be the winston to me

de7, it will always be The Winston for me, too. :)

The shootout is for pole winners and past winners of the shootout, only.

The Winston is for race winners and past winners of The Winston.

Geoffrey Bodine competed in a few races in 2004. He deserves to be there as much as anybody, as long as he can find a ride for the Shootout.

I think that it would be boring with anyless amount of drivers in the Bud Shootout
