Budget request...

It's a shame. I know there's an economic mess but this is a budget request not the final budget. If they need us to take pay cuts or whatever, fine, but bring that up after all else fails. It's bs the policy-makers won't fight for their employees when they do have the chance.

The way it works is they send their budget request proposals. They normally don't even get half of what they ask for. We all ready now there's going to be less money. But the fact that they send a number without any consideration to their employees knowing they will only get a percentage of what they ask for is just flat out bs.

Too many employees in our system living paycheck-to-paycheck that are depending on our policymakers to support us feel like they're being stabbed in the back. A total shame.

And don't give me a speech about how the economy's bad.

Things weren't bad when the County decided to build a ballpark.

Things weren't bad when the state cut the education budget (and I'm a little disappointed this was the first thing Governor Owe'Malley decided to cut).

I know we all have to make sacrifices - but let's discuss those sacrifices first. If that's the crap they're going to feed us, maybe the executives who make $125,000+ a year need to discuss sacrifices as well. Pay cuts should start at the top and work their way down.

This is extremely disappointing all things considered. Might be time to find a new job.

It's a little ironic that people making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year are sitting up here talking about "sacrifice."

Even Brian France took a paycut.
