I'm shocked he was the only one after that titanically stupid move by Kevin Lepage. :eek:

Franchitti, who came to NASCAR this season as the reigning Indy Car Series champion and Indianapolis 500 winner, wrecked when his car apparently lost its right rear tire on the 10th lap of the Nationwide Series race.

His Dodge bounced into the wall and spun down the track, finally drifting down to the apron. It was there that the real damage was done -- a car driven by Larry Gunselman slammed into his driver side door.

Franchitti had to be helped from his car and toward the ambulance, where officials pulled out a stretcher. Franchitti was initially sitting on the stretcher, but eventually lay down on it before he was taken to the care center.

Darios wasn't in the crash caused by Lepage. He wrecked in Lap 11.

And Lepage didn't even have the guts to admit he did something stupid. His spotter said the pack was coming --- and HE PULLS UP ON THE TRACK!
 
I wonder why they haven't updated his condition...that wreck was very early on...

I realize that. I said, I'm shocked he was the only one hurt today after Lepage made that titanically stupid move. Sheer dumb luck nobody else was injured today.
 
Do you remember Dario's crash (in IRL) at Michigan last year? That crash makes this one look like nothing, and that time he walked away!
 
I read he also had a concussion. OK, to be honest, I read he had "concussionS." Nothing worse than poor proof reading. It's bad enough when I mess up a post, but geeze, these people are being published. Blech! MORONS abound. LMAO :rolleyes:

Forgive my little rant, but I've read some really poor writing, editing, you name it, on racing sites today and I'm really annoyed. :D

ETA: Hahaha.. I just read another article about Dario and it said he was treated for CONTUSSIONS! Now that makes sense with an "s" at the end. I think someone was a little too quick trying to post their article. ROFL
 
Except contusion only has 1 s. Who knows what the reporter meant. Their proof reading efforts are so lacking these days. My daughter knows that I'll catch her mistakes so that may help her be more careful.
 
i agree that the man was lucky to be alert & awake & eventually able to walk again. that was a hardcore impact he took.
