Man o man, did you see that crowd? Sure different to what we're used to. I hear that there's no problem selling tickets. And that was NASCAR's objective.
Is it only because it's the first race?

I don't think so bump, there is a race this afternoon there, plus so many Mexican drivers were trying to make the field. No Busch race in this country gets that many fans, much less for qualifing.

jorge got the pole, wish it was still rustys car though

Must have a lot of race fans down there. I'm not sure how much racing they usually get.

Yes, there were several local drivers trying out today. Probably had a little to do with it, but look at all the 'local' drivers we get here. Still not enough to pack the stands.

I bet this is only the start. NASCAR will go back.

If it proves a success and money is made I can guarantee that NASCAR will be be back! :) If I was Bill France and I made money at a track my first time there, you can bet your next year's pay I would find a way to go back again!! :beerbang: :D

You have to consider that the metropolitan area of Mexico City is 18 million. Not too hard to find 150,000 fans.

With all due respect, I don't think that is the reason. May not be hard to find many local fans, but how many are willing to pay the high admission prices?

Local fans are never in the majority at any race track. Anywhere. Saw a study on that some time ago.
