Tim Sauter In No. 36 This Week
Tim Sauter will drive the #36 Chevrolet for DCT Motorsports in Saturday’s NASCAR Busch Series season finale, DCT owner John McGill announced today. Lester Buildings, a Minnesota-based company that manufactures engineered, wood frame building systems over the eastern two-thirds of the nation, will sponsor the team in the race. “Having a proven veteran like Tim Sauter in our car will be a real plus for our team and all of our guys at Homestead,” McGill said. “His own racing lineage, coupled with that of (crew chief) Ricky Pearson, gives us a pretty interesting combination for the weekend.”

Sauter, a Necedah, Wisc., native , is the son of former NASCAR Cup driver Jim Sauter and brother of NASCAR driver Johnny Sauter. Pearson is a winning champion crew chief in his own right, and the son of legendary driver David Pearson and brother of champion driver Larry Pearson. “We all know Tim Sauter can drive a race car, and we’re going to give him the best we can at Homestead,” Pearson said. “A driver brand new to a race team, especially for the final race of the season, doesn’t make things easy but our guys are ready for it. We’re looking forward to a good weekend.” Sauter has 82 career starts in NASCAR’s Busch Series and, in his own full season, finished 13th with seven top-10 finish in 2002. He has also started races in the NASCAR Nextel Cup and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Regan Smith Out Of No. 58 Car
Glynn Motorsports, which fields the No. 58 team in NASCAR's Busch Series, says it has released driver Regan Smith and crew chief Chris Wright from the team, effective immediately. "Chris Wright has decided to part ways with us and move to another team," team manager Jason Butler said. "We, as an organization, decided to make a driver change at this time and release Regan Smith as driver of the No. 58 car." Smith competed in 21 events with Glynn and had a season-best 15th-place finish at New Hampshire International Speedway.(scenedaily.com)

So how much do you think it must sting to have to take the place of someoen who has never driven in Cup (Sherman) yet Andretti had a full-timne ride there at one time and BAM took Sherman over him. OUCH!!!

I wonder where Regan Smith will end up. I think he's a good driver...but he's always been in total garbage cars. He can qualify them well, hang on for a few laps, but then the equipment just goes south. I'd like to see him in a good ride...I honestly thought he would end up in the 32 after Hmiel was out, then I thought he would end up in the 38, but I don't know. I think he'll land somewhere.
