Word is Busch declined RPM's offer to be considered for the # 43 ride ending speculation the controversial driver would bounce back from his Penske departure with at least a 1A-type team ride. Busch has remained publicly quiet on what exactly he does have up his sleeve for next year and behind. He went on a very aggressive media blitz immediately after he and Penske parted ways and assured everyone there was interest on many fronts for his talents. There is speculation he is indeed following through on his thought of walking away from NASCAR for at least a year and running an NHRA Pro Stock car for the 2012 season, an off-shoot of his enjoyable time at last year's Gatornationals. But with little brother Kyle's Nationwide Series ride still open, many believe the Busch boys will indeed team up for next season in a combined NWS-truck series program out of the KBM stable.(Motor Racing Network)(12-22-2011)

If this happens, I hope Kyle's NW sponsors drop him like a hot potato.

As for Kurt's current status he is probably at a group hug seminar.

Maybe he has taken up yoga and gets to meditate, and practice the art of calm and being leo-tarded sooth.

More seriously, I could easily see why Kyle would want to help his brother out, and I gotta believe that's better than taking a year away from Nascar.

Kurt does have the driving skill, cleaning house in the series reminds folks of that, and gives Kurt a physical presence. For Kyle it gives him him a great shot to solidify his team, and having your driver win the championship is huge. Plus it is his brother.

Pure speculation here which makes this worth less than 2 cents, but I am thinking getting sponsors happy with the deal is keeping things currently quite.

Even if that's slow to materialize, I think they run him without one in addition to the other cars. A few strong runs, and some sweet talk will eventually attract even a reluctant sponsor.

never happen. those boys are competitors with each other. kurt would never work FOR kyle.

I think a ton of NW and Truck sponsors would line up to sponsor his first few races in either series. He will trump even Danica in media coverage for a couple of weeks. Kurt has the talent to dominate either series, and the the sponsorship will come. A bunch of former Carl NW sponsors will surely take a look.

If Kurt really does begin to change, a sponsor giving a sincere guy a second chance would be popular.

Yeah, a slight step down. Its gonna be interesting if it pans out.

It's more like going from this

Kurt Busch gets ride for 2012: Kurt Busch will drive the #51 Chevy for Phoenix Racing in 2012. Busch put the handshake deal together with team owner James Finch on Wednesday night. "I went to the shop, and on the Christmas tree was a sign that read, 'All we want from Santa is a winning driver,' " Finch said. "We will be at the Daytona test next month and start with the Shootout." The decision comes just weeks after Busch left [#22 Dodge] Penske Racing in a mutual parting. Upon his departure, Busch said he "wanted racing to be fun again." Phoenix Racing runs Hendrick Motorsports cars and engines. Said Finch: "I told Kurt, 'I won't fire you, and you won't quit. We'll do whatever it takes roll in the mud if we have to to win. I've worked construction all my life just so I could race and have a good time. I've worked with iron workers, I worked with construction workers, so working with a driver is not going to be a problem. As I said earlier, all we want to do is win". Landon Cassill most recently piloted the #51 for Finch last season. Finch finished 30th in owner points.(FoxSports)(12-22-2011)

Quote from Finch makes it sound official.

Finch gets Hendrick equipment. It's not like he has junk. The difference between his team and the Hendrick teams is all the employees and being able to hire shock gurus and people like that.

After Kurts problems with JJ, I would imagine Finch talked to Rick about continuing their relationship before taking Kurt on.

Kurt's been itching to get in Hendrick equiptment. This could be exactly what Kurt AND James need.

The 51 is already listed at Wiki as his ride. Watch the ole hot head put Phoenix racing in the chase next year.

so working with a driver is not going to be a problem.???????????

A driver with the last name of Busch I bet it will.

What would be good now is a sponsor announcement . If that comes through , they will win races .

As much as I dislike Kurt I'm glad to see him find a job in Cup, no need to wish unemployment on anyone not named Brian France.

If Phoenix is going to try to use Kurt to get sponsorship, I wonder who might be willing to take the chance?

A drug company that can pump him full of pills and work a miracle.

Kurt will win a race in the 51 next season. This is good news. Kurt going to the 51 is what this sport needs. I hope he is successful for the sake of James Finch. Would be nice to see another multicar program out there. Lets hope this is the first step for finch to start building that program.

I would love it for Finch if he can put together a good sponsorship package. The amount of tv time that this will generate during the Daytona 500 alone should be enough to interest a big company.Everyone will be watching to see how Kurt does including those who profess to dislike him. A win or two will change their attitudes in a heartbeat.

I doubt he gets to run Chevy in Cup and Toyota against Chevy in NW with Ricks blessing.

Well Jeff Gluck of SBNation said Kurt is going to drive Kyle's NW car (via Twitter). I haven't seen an official announcement yet.
