Myself, I like the bush series better than nascar, because it is more like real stock car racing, but howcome there is never anyone at the races. Do they charge alot, or is it just not in demand

you must not follow the sport too closely huh newbie :cuckoo:

Miller, the prices for tickets are usually cheaper. I really don't know why more people don't go. I usually go to both Richmond Busch races.....they usually block off the backstretch and no one is allowed there. They used to block off turns two and three, but in the past few years, more people have started showing up and they have opened more sections.

When I go to Daytona, I think the entire track is open. My seats are on the backstretch and I seem to remember all the seats open.

When Dale, Jr , Kenseth, Stewy and a few others were running Busch full time, it was hard to find a seat. Since there isn't many "big names" in the series right now, it may have lost some interest. But the way the point race ended and with it being so close for most of the season, it may have gained some more fans.

No, miller, it's NOT! Besides what fergy said, Busch has not even given a hint that they are even thinking about pulling out.

Welcome to the forums. Bush Series is also NASCAR. I think more people like the Cup races because the drivers are pretty constant through the whole season. Last year 13 Bush Series drivers raced the full 34 races. They also had 156 different drivers last year. Drivers don't stick around the Bush Series anymore. The series would be a lot better if the drivers would stay put for a while, but they all want to race with the best. I go the the Milwaukee Mile every year and watch the race. I don't like the Bush Series for the above reason, but I go to have a good time. As the old saying goes, this is just my opinion.

Hey Bucky, did you attend the '93 race there at Milwaukee? That was the first year the Busch series raced there and I was there that year and the following year. They were still running the 6 cylinders back then. I remember that Rusty Wallace, Darrell Waltrip, Davey Allison and I believe it was Harry Gant that were the Cuppers that ran that first race. Man those sixers sure were noisy! :)

Milwaukee almost sells out when the busch series is there. At least when i went this past year it was pretty much full.

No I moved here in '97.............used to live in Joliet, Il. As soon I I move here they build a shiney new track practily in my back yard. :dual9mm:

The Cup series is more popular and always has been as long as I've followed racing, which is a mighty long time. I remember when Busch series was called Late Model Sportsman and Cup was Grand National Series. Even then, the LMS drew smaller crowds than the GNS. Bigger stars, faster cars, but the biggest reason is more ink given to the Cup series. The Busch series is seen by most fans as a minor league. AAA baseball teams don't draw as many fans as major league teams, and racing is no different.

That may change quickly...I just got my renewal for Milwaukee and they jacked the price up considerably for the 2nd straight year. I understand last year's increase because they built new stands, but I think they want to get them damn things paid for in 2 years. The top section is now $79, up $14 from last season. My Busch ticket for Bristol only costs $64 (I'm in the Kulwicki Terrace) & Michigan is only $45 for all the seats.

This year the Busch race at Milwaukee goes head to head with the Cup race at Infineon. I wonder how that'll affect attendance since there will not be any Cup guys attending this year? And I wonder how many people won't go because of the price increase and the fact that they'll miss the Cup race (or watch it on tape)?

Busch Series will make out OK! Especially since the series has so many Cup drivers racing in it!

I don't follow it too closely, but all of the grandstands are empty. Yes, I know it is nascar, but I don't call it that; I realy think is is more real stock car racing than the winston cup

The Grandstands are Lowes are certainly not empty for the Busch races >> and not even empty for the ARCA races!! I am curious to see how many folks will show up next year for the ASA race at Lowes >> ASA is a great series!

They don't draw as big a crouds as cup races. But they will do ok. and be around a while. :D

I dont think it'll go down, NASCAR needs a "minor leagues" to get the stars of tomorrow from.

First off, the Busch and Cup cars are almost the same cars so....

Anyways, I personaly feel that if the buschwackers didn't start in the races, most people wouldn't really watch.

The busch Series would be better if it was a true feeder series for the Nextel Series. What I mean is don't let so many Cup regulars run Busch and more than 13 drivers would race all the races and fans would see more drivers competing for the championship. My theroy after you have a full time Cup ride you can only race one year in both series. After that the only way you race Busch is to leave your Cup ride.

Don't think that will happen. Everybody has to agree that without the cup guys in it, the busch series wouldn't get much attention (not saying its right but...).

I would personally like to see a limit on how many cup guys can enter a race, say 3 or 5, but to shut them all out is not really fair. Just because you make it too the big leagues doesn't mean you can't have fun in the minor leagues. If they put rules for the cup guys stayin out of busch, then they need to do it for trucks too. Oh, and also make a rule for the cup guys to stay out of the IRL, USAC, or going to their hometrack to race late models or whatever else. I would hate to be Benson or Schrader because they couldn't even race at their own tracks...
