Busy Week For Drivers
Tony Stewart, the 2005 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series champion, and the rest of the Chase For The Nextel Cup drivers will have busy schedules in the days leading up to the annual awards ceremonies in New York.
On Monday, Stewart is scheduled to appear on Fox News Channel's "Dayside." Tuesday, he is will visit Staten Island Hospital's pediatric burn unit and the Fire Department of New York training facility.
Various drivers will appear on NBC's "Today" show Wednesday, with the Victory Lap procession proceeding. The top 10 drivers will begin at "Today's" plaza and will end at 375 Park Ave., where a ceremony introducing the drivers will take place.
Later that day, drivers will take part in a 2:30 p.m. autograph session at NBC Experience Store in Rockefeller Plaza.
Rusty Wallace, Kurt Busch, Jeremy Mayfield and Carl Edwards are also scheduled to be at Continental Arena in Meadowlands, N.J., for the Nets NBA game. The drivers will sit courtside and will be recognized at halftime. Fans will also have the chance to win autographs, race tickets and Nextel Cup Series-licensed cell phones.
On Thursday, Stewart, Kurt Busch, Edwards, Ryan Newman and Kyle Busch are scheduled to have a private session with children at a Ronald McDonald House. The NASCAR Nextel Cup will be on display from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at NBC Experience Store. The appearance schedule is tentative and subject to change.(Scene Daily)
