I've heard of this done in other arenas, entertainment mostly. Do not ever recall an individual in any sport trying it.
Melbourne, March 5 (Bloomberg) -- Rookie Formula One driver
Justin Wilson is selling shares in himself.
The 24-year-old Briton is trying to raise 1.2 million pounds
($1.9 million) from individuals to help fund his first season in
the sport with the cash-strapped Minardi team.
Investors who stump up a minimum 500 pounds in Justin Wilson
Plc stand to make returns based on his future earnings, gambling
that his career will flourish in a sport whose drivers make as
much as $67 million a year. Those concerned Minardi won't last
much beyond Sunday's season-opening race in Australia may steer
clear.
