BY400 Might Look Like Dover?

Imagine that, another track that produces ****ty racing losing fans.

The Indianapolis experiment has failed in an epic way. Time to race at IRP.

There is a whole lot you and I disagree on but we are in 100% agreement on that one (And I'm from the Indy area and I really like, and have a ton of respect for, the Brickyard). I would add to your final statement: ...and North Wilkesboro and Rockingham, and Darlington on Labour Day, just for starters.

Pretty said when they are stating a couple months in advance that we should expect to see empty seats. They were already starting on a slow decline before the 2008 tire debacle but since then attendance has dropped like a rock. Personally I've never been a fan of the 400 there. I know that it is hallowed ground to the racing community but I never liked NASCAR going to that venue.

As far as racing going to Lucas Oil Raceway. Sure the racing would probably be great. Unfortunately, the place only holds about 40,000. A bad day @ Indy looks to be still somewhere over 100,000. You do the math. I can't see it ever happening.

I agree. I'm from the area and have attended several 500's and the first BY400. It's a great track and there is no other sound like that of a stock car roaring down the front straight at the BY, between the main grandstands and the tower grand stands. But, after the first few BY400's it was pretty evident to me that the track is just unfortunately not for stock cars.
With the direction they've taken NA__AR in the past half decade, and with the trend in attendance, maybe that 40K seating would be enough? :)

Howbout we ditch the brickyard and the other fontana race, and have 2 races at ORP?

That Fontana race is another that will probably stay right where it's at. Since they've dropped it down to 400 miles it's been a much better race IMO.

I had tickets for the BY since the inaugural race. After the tire debacle a few years ago, I dropped the tickets. The BY should have given a refund to anyone that was at that race and they just snubbed their noses at us.

The racing there isn't very good and the way the track is configured you can't see a lot of the racing.
